ABNH -Tone on Tone

** UPDATED : TOP 5 FAVOURITES AT HOC **

*****************************************************************

I can't resist making another card for the challenge at ABNH.  This time, I stamped the HA Magical Background in Desert Sand on a kraft cardstock.  Then I used staz on to stamp HA Wildflower Garden on a acetate.  Lastly, I heat embossed the sentiment in gold on a torn piece of vellum.

I would like to pop this card into the following challenges :  CASolgy, Stamping Sensations, CAS-ual FridaysHouse of Cards and Simon Wednesdays Challenge.

A peep on the separate pieces.  I also stamped the inner card.

It's going to be a long weekend over here and we are driving to the the north of France for a short trip.  Thereafter, school begins ):  Enjoy your day!

ABNH - Kraft White & 1 colour

Hiya,  I am so happy to be able to make another card again.  This is for the challenge over at A Bloga Named Hero by using kraft, white + 1 colour. In this instance, I chose blue.  The back sheet is stenciled in HA unicorn and TH distress ink faded jeans.

Stamped the silhouette from HA Greatest Gift and heat embossed in black and fussy cut.  I wanted to try something else with the sentiment by mixing black and white for heat embossed.  This piece is adhered onto an acetate whereby some stickles are added on it.  A blue star embellishment is also added onto the star!

Thanks for dropping by and have a good day!

Freshly Made Sketches #202

Hi everyone....is it raining where you are?  We have had torrential rains for the last couple of days already - not the whole day but still..... it's too much water at the moment!  It seems like autumn has arrived!

In such rainy weather, what's better than staying at home and making cards. Using the sketch from CAS (E) this Sketch and Freshly Made Sketches, here is what I made.  The background is stamped with staz on white with HA Tiny Stars and the silver sentiment die cut is from Wplus9.  I have this adorable bear for a long time already and decided to use it again.  Stamped and watercoloured the image and added stickles on the shawl.  A piece of acetate is stamped with the same HA Tiny Stars.

Inside is distressed

Waltzing Mouse PJ Party June

I have not been joining Waltzing Mouse Pyjama Party for a long time and I thought today's theme was fun.  Do check out all the details over here.

I have chosen to use challenge #1 which is Can It/ Pickle It.  The base card is stamped with TH antique linen with HA Background Manuscript and lightly distressed.  Then, I used a patterned paper which is also lightly distressed.  For this card, I also used a special handmade paper which I got many years ago from a japanese friend and she told me that these papers are from Japan.  I've never used them as I treasured them too much to use them.  The paper has a very special texture and it is also lightly distressed in antique linen. Then, I machine-stitched around the edges.

I used the WM Jar set which is stamped onto a patterned paper and trimmed.  As I wanted to make a shaker card, I decided to trim the inner jar as well and added an acetate.  Tie the lid with twine.  Added a double lace and finished it off with double bow!

Hope you have fun hopping and thanks for dropping by!

WPlus9 - Get Sketcy with Joni #1

** edited : Top Picks at Colour Me & TKJ **

Getting "krafty" again for this week's card.  Basing the the sketch from WPlus9 and picking three items from The Kraft Journal which are "tag, feminine and stamped".  As for the colours, I am using the colour inspiration from Colour Me.

For this card, I used the WPlus9 Fresh Floral Cut stamped, coloured and die cut.  I thought it would be fun to die-cut the teapot from Poppy Stamps on an acetate.   The sentiment is stamped with Staz-on black on the teapot.

Usually, I keep the rib cardstock from my food packaging and this time I just had to use it for as my tag. I thought to zig-zag machine stitched the kraft would give a little more interest on the kraft on kraft look!

I am also entering this into Verve StampsStamping Sensations and AAA Cards for celebrating their 1st Birthday!

Make The Day Special - November

Weather has been really grey for the last few days and temperature is dropping as well and I just turned a year younger yesterday!

I am making another tall and skinny card for Make The Day Special Cards by using this colour inspiration.

I am so happy that the stencil from SSS has finally arrived and I am putting it on use on this card by applying glittered paste as the background.  The glitters really stands out on the red cardstock.

Basically, I am CASing myself from this card as I just love how the shaker baubles turned out.  However, this time I added some snow drift die cuts.  The stamped images are from PS which I put it a little slanted, the snowflakes and sentiments are from HA.  I am also popping this card into Simon Says Flickr Challenge.

Thanks for dropping by and have a good Friday!

Merry Monday #133

EDITED : HONORABLE MENTION AT MERRY MONDAY CHRISTMAS;
TOP THREE AT THE KRAFT JOURNAL
****************************************************************

So glad it's Friday already.  The inspiration that I got from this photo is all about natural colour.

For this card, the background base is stenciled in white with craft emotion stars.  Then the acetate is dotted with some glitters.  The die cut is from memory box which is cut twice - once in kraft and the back is black to create some shadow on the card.  Lastly the sentiment is stamped with HA.

I am entering this into Penny Black and MoreThe Kraft
Journal, and Time Out Challenge.

Thanks for stopping by and have great day!

MFT Colour Palette Challenge #9

So cool that this week, I only need to work half a day as Monday was a study day and today is a special holiday in our region!  That gives me time to catch up with my card making and housework as well, as I was not feeling well the last two days.

I am using the colour challenge from MFT to make this card.  The MFT wreath is die cut in two colours and for some reason I wanted to stamp the sentiment from SSS Thinking of You onto an acetate and instead of making it into a shaker card, I just glued the sequins behind the acetate.  The three flowers are also from SSS set.

Thank you for taking time to drop by.

Make the Day Special Challenge #4

Over at Make the Day Special challenge there is an interesting challenge which is to case one of our very own card from the first year of card making.  Never did I thought that casing my own card was so difficult. I am also entering this card into Paper Smooches Sparks challenge and Simon Wednesday Challenge.

This is the card which I decided to case after browing several cards.  As the previous card, I am using acetate as my background which is stamped with white stazOn by using MFT Darling Dots.  The darling snowmen are from Paper Smooches Freezy Fellas which is heat embossed and cut with the wise dies.  So happy that there is a matching dies which make life so much easier.  Did some colouring and added a twine and some sequins.

Added some sequin buttons

Little Tangles #37

Happy Friday!  I am making another acetate card but this time it is inserted into a spellbinder Diamond Effects from which I made into a card.

The flowers are stamped with Reverse Confetti - Very Stripey and the flower diecut is from MFT.   I also added some glitters around the edge of the flowers to give a little bit more interest.  Stamped the sentiment on the acetate with white stazon ink.

I am entering this card into the following challenges Little Tangles, CASology and Reverse Confetti.

MIM #153 & ColourQ #230

The first thing that crosses my mind was the colour of the summer starfruit which is one of the colours of the challenge over at ColourQ - I don't have this colour in my collection!  Hmm... then I remembered about the challenge over at PTI-MIM which is about watercolour!

I mixed yellow and green on a whitecardstock to achieve this starfruit colour. Die cut twice with PTI Dress Form.  With the leftover from the watercolour cardstock, I die cut two buttons.  I used the MFT tencil to create the background with the embossing paste.

The handmade stamp is from PTI Button Boutique.  I wanted a sentiment to be somewhere on the card but not disturbing the look of the embossing paste and decided that I add an acetate so that the sentiment can be stamped on it by using staz on ink.  I am also submitting this card into Simon Wednesday Challenge.

BIC #47

I was inspired by the colours this time at Be Inspired Challenge.

I had fun making this monster card with the The Alley Way Stamp : Monster Madness and Background Check.   The front panel is cut into two pieces so that a small piece of acetate can be added onto it.

Did some "mad" colouring inside out and added some googly eyes on them too.

Ombré Technique

This is the first time that I am making a card by using gesso as I was inspired by Helen from Craft Stamper - January issue.

I applied some gesso with my fingers on the acetate as I like the idea of the rough texture.  Once it's dry, I applied TH distress inks tunbled glass, broken china, faded jeans and chipped sapphire.

On another piece of paper, I used the same inks for the flowers diecut.  A piece of feather is added behind the mannequin diecut as I thought it was a little too naked.

Thank you for stopping by.

Lawnscaping Challenge #70

Hello to all! It's polka dots challenge over at Lawnscaping Challenge and Bring on the Bling at AllSorts Challenge.

I am making yet another Christmas gift.  I am sure you have seen this packaging before and I find it to be such a clever way of combining a card and a small gift for someone.  I am using the Lawn Fawn set Critters in the Snow which is stamped on a red glitter paper and heat embossed in black.  This is the first time that I embossed on a glittered paper and glad that it turned out well.  The acetate is also from the same set.  I also added a a vellum die cut behind the deer as I wanted it to stands out a little and yet not too much.

We are going for thai food tonight to celebrate my belated birthday.  Have a crafty weekend!

All Sorts Challenge #231

Have you seen this new stamp from PB Glad Tidings?  I am loving all the sentiments from this set.

Today, I am using this sentiment which is heat embossed in red and attached it onto a couple of cardstock panels.  To highlight the sentiment, I decided to use acetate which is stamped with PB Diamond Pattern in white staz on. I used glittered paper for the ribbon die-cut.

This afternoon we had our first hail of the year already and it was rather heavy too.  Hope your weather is better than over here.  Have a good week ahead!
