SSS Flickr Challenge #11

Made this card a few days ago and forgot to post it and just realised that today is the deadline.

I bought this SSS Frozen Treats die last year and never got a chance to use it until now.  I wanted something different other than using the normal valentine dies and decided to use this couple.  Once the ice-creams were cut out, I distressed them with TH inks and clear embossed them twice.  To make it a little bit more romantic I had to lean them on each other! A piece of heart-shape vellum is attached on the background.  The sentiment is also from SSS Just a Love Note.

I am popping this into the following challenges : SSS Flickr ChallengeSSS Work It WednesdayNaughty or NiceStempel kueche and Inspiration Journal challenges.

Thanks for dropping by and have a great day!

PP #230

Hello Sunday!  Have not been playing at The Paper Players for awhile and today's challenge caught my attention - furry friends!  I love dogs and decided to use the Lawn Fawn set which is stamped on patterned papers and heat embossed.

Adhered two mini heart shapes on the white cardstock and stamped the sentiment from SSS.  A piece of blue burlap is attached onto the background. I am popping this into Time Out SSS Flickr and House of Cards challenges.

Inside of card. Punched out all the mini hearts

Have a great day!

The Card Concept #27

I was drawn by the ombre inspiration from The Card Concept and immediately I thought of using the MFT Snowdrift Dies for this card.  For this card, I am using the sketch from CAS (E) this Sketch.

I had to puzzle a little with the snowdrift dies to make sure that the dies fit perfectly (not really) with each other.  The border stitched dies is from Lawn Fawn.

The heart shapes are in three layers : vellum, burlap and TH distress glitters.  I wanted to use my new SSS sentiment as it's a thank you card which is die cut in grey.

I am also entering this card into ColourQSSS FlickSSS Work It Wednesday challenges!

Weather has turned into hail since yesterday!  Yesterday, I was cycling from work and was attacked by the hail, ouch!  Luckily, it was only a short distance cycling however, towards the end of the day there was so much hail that the roads were covered in white!  Always worried for those who are cycling especially my children who needs to cycle further away.

Hope your weather is better and stay safe!

Color Throwdown #324

Hello everyone,

I am back from the warm country about two weeks ago but as usual, it took awhile before my mojo is back again.  If I am still not too late, I would like to wish everyone a Happy New Year!

I am starting off this year with a Valentine card for a card drive which is organised by Winter Wonderland and using the colour inspiration from Color Throwdown.

The banner set is from SU.  As this card is heading to the hospital, there is nothing of buttons, glitters, sequins or anything that can be pulled out as it might pose as a choking hazard!

Besides visiting Malaysia this year, we flew to Krabi, Thailand for a couple of days for snorkeling and rafting.  Although, the flying was only an hour, the weather was surprisingly different from Malaysia as the humidity in Krabi was lower which made it very pleasant to walk around.  Here are a couple of photos from Krabi...

Krabi is a small town and as I understood that there were only three traffic lights and I spotted this zebra crossing!

"Take Away" boats along the coast

At a waterfall and our feet were "cleansed" by the fishes!

Thank for dropping by and have a great day!

Stampin Royalty Challenge #213

The stamp set Element of Style is stamped onto a white cardstock and coloured with different shades of pinks.  I didn't want to colour the whole card as I wanted to minimise the colour.

A stamped vellum is added onto the stamped image.  I would like to enter this card into the following challenges : Stampin RoyaltyColour Q and Simon Wednesday Challenge

Lawnscaping #75

The weather is awful over here that it has been raining the whole day.  A perfect day to craft and decided to make a happy card for Lawnscaping Challenge.

I stamped the set Blissful Botanical to create the heart shape on the kraft paper and coloured with shades of pinks.  The penguins are stamped onto patterned paper to create a "couple" look and the sentiment is from SSS.  The side border is dry embossed with the dots folder.

I am also entering this card into the following challenges : The Kraft JournalColour QSimon Wednesday Challenge.

TAW Challenge - Be Inspired #21

I think this should my last Valentine card of the year.  Taking the inspiration from the picture, I am making a CAS card.  I've used several stamp sets from The Alley Way Stamp for this card.  For the background stamping, I used Background Check, the sentiments are from Monster Madness and the little cutie at the bottom is from Sea Mates.

Lawnscaping Challenge #51

Hello everyone, hope you had a good weekend and getting ready for the rest of the week!

Valentine Day is in 3 days' time and I have a card using Lawn Fawn Critter Down Under to share with you today for  Lawnscaping Challenge.

I wanted something different and wonder if crocodiles ever do fall in love!  Why not?  On top of that, I am trying something new also by stamping the crocs on the washi tapes and heat embossed it.  Wah! la! It worked.  Then I did the reverse stamping which is more difficult to stick onto the washi tape but it worked although I had to use a marker to run thru the image. Then I came up with a hilarious idea that how I do differentiate a male and a female besides using colour scheme!

I have this set from The Alley Way Stamp Monsters Madness and decided to use only the mustache and added a twine for the female croc.  As for the banners, I also used the washi tapes to alternate the patterned and used the CB for the alphabets but as you can see, I used the boomerang from the set Critter Down Under as the alphabet "L".  This card also enters into Die Cut Divas and V Sweet Ideas

While typing this post, I had to giggle as it also eases my anger because something happened yesterday and I am still boiling inside!!!  I showed Claire and she had to giggle to!  If for any reason that you are not happy, I realised that sometimes making funny cards helps to ease my anger.  Hope this card will bring a smile on you today!

Thank you for dropping by and have a great day!

Basic Grey Challenge #86

Finally, it's Friday and it's snowing again.....

Today I am sharing a masculine Valentine card and am using HA/ Basic Grey Lauderdale Trees stamp.  The stamp is stamped in versamark and heat embossed in white and distressed in broken china and tumbled glass.  The sentiment is from HA Whoo Loves You which is also heat embossed in white and dry embossed.  To keep it masculine, I punched two holes at the bottom of the card and added natural twine.

This card enters into the following challenges : Basic Grey ChallengesHero Arts , Die Cut Divas and V Sweet Ideas

PS Trend Watch 4-10 Feb

It's Trend Challenge over at Paper Smooches Sparks and this is the inspiration photo - Yikes! Polka dots, I am a sucker for polka dots!

Pretty simple card to make but I love how it turned out.  On the white cardstock, I did some heart white heat embossing on it as this card is also meant to be a Valentine Card although the sentiment doesn't really say so.
The polka dots are stamped on the blue cardstock followed by the clouds, fussy cut them and paper pieced on one of them.  This card also enters into A Blog Named Hero.

DD #38

Hope everyone had a lovely weekend and welcome Monday!

Another reason to make a Valentine card with the combined challenges from Hero Arts and Dynamic Duos.  I have not used the HA Starbust Lace for a long time and now there is a reason to use it as the challenge over at Hero Arts is all about Love and Lace.  This card also enters into The Ribbon GirlsHand Stamped Sentiments , Artfull Crafts and V Sweet Ideas challenges.

The Starburst is stamped onto a pink vellum and heat embossed in white and fuzzy cut.  The red heart is cut using the heart die twice and I also added a layer of mesh to give an extra touch to the red. The sentiment is from HA Everyday Saying which is stamped in black on a mini heart white cardstock.

A border punch from MS is also added just below the ribbon.

Thank you for your sweet comments.
