MOJO Monday #336

Sending you beautiful spring weather from here.  I just can't believe how beautiful the weather is today - sunshines, no wind and temperature of about 18 degrees celcius.  Today was my first day enjoying my lunch in the garden - well partly to get away from the dusty house too!

  

Work is progressing rather slow with the bathroom because they had to patch-up the plaster wall as it was badly in shape.  As the thickness of the plaster is 3cm which is rather thick, it's taking very long to dry which resulted in the delay of putting the tiles.  The constructer said that he can only do it next week which mean a week delay!!  Another week living in the dust....

I needed a sympathy card for my friend's mum who just passed away. Working in my dusty corner by combining the colour challenge from ColourQ and sketch from MOJO Monday.  I am also linking this up in The Kraft Journal.

The newspaper print and stripes are from HA. The feather dies are from MFT which are cut twice in kraft and black. The sentiment is from Verve which is heat embossed in black.

Sympathy Card

Made this quick card for Lisa whose grandmother just passed away last week.  This is the first time that I'm using the smallest butterfly stamp from HA, Antique Engraving.  As it's a sympathy card, I wanted to keep in plain and simple and I surprised myself that I came up with this design!  I also made a matching envelope to go with the card.

Sunflowers - Tri fold cards

I have not been up to myself lately and this is rather uncommon that my first post of the week is in the midweek!

This week, I made my first card with two folds and using the image from PB, Flower Gallery.  I masked the sunflowers several times on the cover of the card and cut the shape of the flowers along the edge.  I did the same to the opposite side of the card as well but with lesser image and did the same cutting as well. 

The message part is also stamped with the same image but on a white cardstock and lightly distress in green as well.  Put some silver embellishments randomly on the sunflowers which I hope this is also considered as sparkle which is required for this week's challenge. Lastly, I made a "belt" for the card by cutting a 3cm strip from the white cardstock and punched it using the scallop punch from Stampin Up.  Another strip of about 2cm is from the green stock which I run it thru the cuttlebug.  This card also comes with a matching envelope!

Sympathy Card

The wife of Marcel's collegue just passed awayand the funeral will take place in Singapore.  As it's too far for us to make this trip, I made this card for him. 

This stamp is from Penny Black, Flower Galley and the image is stamped twice and embossed in white.  The sentiment is from HA, Everyday sayings and the scallop is from Stampin Up.  I wanted to keep this card as simple as possible.

Card for Bridget (Mike's wife)

Latest update from Jennifer McGuire that Mike passed away to brain cancer last weekend.  She

has decided to collect cards for his wife, Bridget. (They didn't have children.) If you are interested in sending a card to her with a message, please just mail it to her ASAP - before February 7th.  She will then box the cards up and mail them to her all together so she can go through them in her own time.
