CFC #132 & BIC #53

Have you seen the latest challenge over at CAS-ual Fridays?  It's about creating a masculine card without using kraft but need to use ribbon on your project....hmm! This is going to be interesting and I thought I should give a go for it.

This card was inspired by the glass-stained which I usually see in churches.  This set is from Background Check from The Alley Way Stamps - stamped and heat embossed in black and coloured with copics.  Love how it turned out.  I double scored all the borders and the sentiment is from Verve.  I am also entering this card in Simon Wednesday Challenge.

We are expecting tropical heat weather tomorrow at about 30 degrees.  I am not so keen on this kind of heat but I do know that a lot of dutch are dying for this weather.   Have a great weekend!

BIC #53

Woohoo! So glad that the 4 long days weekend is finally here.  Are you planning to do something or going somewhere on this Ascension Day?  As for me, my children do not want to go anywhere as they needed a break from the school but I would like to!

Our friend is turning 50 soon (we are not there yet!) and I thought this photo inspiration was a good one to make a card for him.  I used several sets from The Alley Way Stamp.  The pins are Adora Bowl - stamped, embossed and added stickles on them.  One of the pins, I decided to add a smiley face from Monster Madness and gave him a neon bow!  Both sides of the cardstock are scored.

The top layers of the die cut remained the colour layer but the bottom layers are in brown as I wanted it to have the "shadow" look.  Each numbers are layered 6 times.

Inside is from the set Framed.

Have a craft day!

PS - 4-10 May Anything Goes

It's Anything Goes at Paper Smooches Sparks this week.  I decided to pull out my PS Boobs Tubes and wise dies Birthday Words for this card.  Stamped the tv
on cardstock and one on the edge which is the challenge at Addicted to CAS.

The background is from The Alley Way Background Check.  Added some glossy accents on the dots and the sentiment.

I like to use my scraps as much as possible and decided to decorate this on the inside card.

For those who are celebrating Mother's Day tomorrow, wishing you a lovely day and a big hug from me to you!

PS 16-22 March

UPDATED :
FEATURED AT STAMPS AT PLAY and a CONNOISSEUR at COLOUR ME
************************************************************************

Yeah!  It's "Anything Go Goes" this week at Paper Smooches Sparks this week.  I am using the colour challenge from Colour Me Card to create this card.

A simple card by using the die cut from PS Flowers which I decided to paperpieced the outline of the flowers to give a little more detail.  Some glitters are added on the flowers too. The sentiment is from The Alley Way Stamps which is heat embossed.

The base card is embossed and added  pearl accents.

I am also entering this card in Simon Wednesday Challenge.

The bathroom and the toilets are getting in shape and hopefully it will be on scheduled by early next week.  The constructors are driving me crazy as they open both the main door and the door to the living room at the same time.  They need to do this as the materials are in the garage.  Actually, they could have gone via the main door to the garage.

The house radiator is still on as the weather is still cold.  I have told them not to do that and purposely close the doors immediately and they just can't get it!!! Guess, it makes a difference if they don't to pay the electricity bill as I bet they don't do this at their own house.

Thank you for dropping by and have a lovely week!

BIC #47

I was inspired by the colours this time at Be Inspired Challenge.

I had fun making this monster card with the The Alley Way Stamp : Monster Madness and Background Check.   The front panel is cut into two pieces so that a small piece of acetate can be added onto it.

Did some "mad" colouring inside out and added some googly eyes on them too.

Have a fun craft day!

Be Inspired Challenge #26

This morning when I received a call that I had to do substitute work at school, I was happy until an alarming call.  We received a call to say that all secondary schools in Leiden where my children's schools are that schools are cancelled for the full day!

Eeeh!  Full day no school that is rather unusual!  It was said that one of the schools is being threatened that a gunshooting will take place!!  Scary!  So the kids were at home the whole day enjoying themselves and they were hoping that they could have a day off tomorrow again!  Hope nothing serious will take place!

Anyway, back to my card business..... a simple card for The Alley Way Stamps challenge.   Here is the inspiration photo.  I am also entering this card into Ribbon Carousel challenge.

I was inspired by the colour orange and the stacked up oranges.  Here is my take.

Be Inspired Challenge #25

Have a quick card to share with you today although I had to struggle a little to make a card which is inspired by this photo!

I was inspired by the pink polka dots and the layers of cake. For the background it is stamped with Background Check in neon pink.  The slice of the cake is from adoraBowl  which is heat embossed and paperpieced.  I added some stickles on the cherry top and glitters on the black panel.

Thank you for dropping by.

TAWS Challenge #24

Hello!  Hope you are still enjoying the rest of your Sunday before the week begins again!  The weather has been so strange since yesterday as we had extreme cold front from the eastern europe that we had a windchill of -15 degrees celcius but the temperature was only about 3 degrees celcius.  I also heard that there was snowstorm in the North of England and many were stranded on the roads and without electricity and I hope that everything will go back to normal soon.  Friends, where ever you are, please take care!

Here is a simple card that inspired me from the photo and I am using the stamps from The Alley Way Stamps.  I wanted to use a twine for my card with the same colour theme but this combination does not exist yet so I decided to use a white crochet wool and colored them with copics.  Wa-lah!  Simple to do and I managed to get the colours that I wanted and above all it's also cheap!

Thank you for your sweet comment!

Lawnscaping Challenge #54

EDITED : 30 MARCH
HONORABLE GNOME AT LAWN FAWN CHALENGE
******************************************************

Finally, it's Friday.... it's not that I work fulltime but I am so happy for the children and DH to have the weekend off.

Today's card is all about stitching.  I had so much fun making this card.  The background panel is stamped by using the Lawn Fawn Blissful Botanicals and the smaller panel is from The Alley Stamps Background Check.  Both panels are machined stitched.  5 banners are cut and faux stitched along the sides.  I love the koala which is colored in red (I don't feel like using the natural colour) and made another banner for the smaller panel which is actually from a party hats from the set Hats off You.

As for the inside, I made a pocket for a gift card and also for a short message on the little card.  I am also entering this card into the following challenge : Scrapbooker's ParadisePenny Black and More

Wishing you a lovely weekend!

Seize the Birthday #8

"It's a beautiful day, the sun is shinning, I feel good..." by Queen.  Does this sounds familiar to you?  It has been playing on my head ever since our trip from the seal creche.  Here is the song from Queen himself (you tube).

Yes, it's lovely spring day today with full blast of sunshine with temperature of about 14 degrees celcius - it's just amazing that the weather can play such a role in your life.  I could feel that everybody has a smiley face on the street and the bulbs are peeking out already in our garden.

Here is another happy card by using the sketch from Seize the Birthday and the stamp set from The Alley Way Stamps. The background is stamped with neon green with The Alley Way Stamps Background Check and the seal from Sea Mates.  The banners are handcut and I used a felt for the green die-cut.

As this is a green and masculine card, I am also entering this into Die-Cut DivasPenny Black at All Sorts and Scrapbooker's Paradise.

Wishing you a lovely sunny day!

TAW Be Inspired Challenge #22

A quick post today for TAW Challenge with this inspired picture.

The frame is from The Alley Way Stamps Framed which is stamped on neon green cardstock.  The flowers are my favourite set from The Alley Way Stamps Awesome Blossom which is stamped with my new neon inks from HA on a white cardstock.  On a separate cardstock, I repeated the three colours and fussy cut them and sticked onto the first layer.  At this stage, I wished that there is a diecut for this flower - I hope Alison will read this post.

TAW Challenge - Be Inspired #21

I think this should my last Valentine card of the year.  Taking the inspiration from the picture, I am making a CAS card.  I've used several stamp sets from The Alley Way Stamp for this card.  For the background stamping, I used Background Check, the sentiments are from Monster Madness and the little cutie at the bottom is from Sea Mates.

Lawnscaping Challenge #51

Hello everyone, hope you had a good weekend and getting ready for the rest of the week!

Valentine Day is in 3 days' time and I have a card using Lawn Fawn Critter Down Under to share with you today for  Lawnscaping Challenge.

I wanted something different and wonder if crocodiles ever do fall in love!  Why not?  On top of that, I am trying something new also by stamping the crocs on the washi tapes and heat embossed it.  Wah! la! It worked.  Then I did the reverse stamping which is more difficult to stick onto the washi tape but it worked although I had to use a marker to run thru the image. Then I came up with a hilarious idea that how I do differentiate a male and a female besides using colour scheme!

I have this set from The Alley Way Stamp Monsters Madness and decided to use only the mustache and added a twine for the female croc.  As for the banners, I also used the washi tapes to alternate the patterned and used the CB for the alphabets but as you can see, I used the boomerang from the set Critter Down Under as the alphabet "L".  This card also enters into Die Cut Divas and V Sweet Ideas

While typing this post, I had to giggle as it also eases my anger because something happened yesterday and I am still boiling inside!!!  I showed Claire and she had to giggle to!  If for any reason that you are not happy, I realised that sometimes making funny cards helps to ease my anger.  Hope this card will bring a smile on you today!

Thank you for dropping by and have a great day!
