I would like to pop this card into the following challenges :  CASolgy, Stamping Sensations, CAS-ual FridaysHouse of Cards and Simon Wednesdays Challenge.

A peep on the separate pieces.  I also stamped the inner card.

It's going to be a long weekend over here and we are driving to the the north of France for a short trip.  Thereafter, school begins ):  Enjoy your day!

ABNH

 **** UPDATED : ABNH SHOUTOUT ****

*****************************************************************

This is my second week off and I am treasuring every moment of it.  I did a lot of spring cleaning - OMG!  Everything is so dusty!

Have you heard about the latest challenge over at ABNH - all about Tone on Tone!  It was kind of a challenge to me as I took awhile to figure to make a reasonable card.

One thing I like about ABNH is that they encourage using old HA stamps and I decided to pull out HA Starburst Lace.  My tone on tone stamping is simply by using black ink on the black background and a contrast HA unicorn ink.  The sentiment is heat embossed in white on a torn vellum.

I would like to pop this card into the following challenge Stamping SensationsHouse of CardsCASology and CAS-ual Fridays.

Here are some more of the tulips photos which I promised a few days ago.  Have you seen this colour before - it is dark purple.

I love this shocking pink...

 DH behind the scene!

Hope you have enjoyed the rest of the tulips and I am going back to creating cards again....WOOHOO!

Woohoo! Finally, it's holiday and I am really looking forward to it to be able to catch up with my card making!  My first card to celebrate my 2 weeks holiday!

I am going for a clean and simple and a one layer card!  First, I covered the four corners with masking tape and I stamped the image from HA Good Thoughts on a watercolour cardstock.  Then watercolour the background with TH distress ink salty ocean.

The sentiment is from HA It's Your Day which is heat embossed in white on a black cardstock.  I finished the card with some black embellishments and applied Wink of Stella.

I would like to pop this card into A Blog Named HeroSimon Wednesday Challenge and Time Out Challenge.

Craft Stamper Feb 2016

I am a ColourQ Coutiers!

************************************************
I am back!!  School is having a week break this week which give me sometime to go back into the blogging and making some cards again.

I am combining this card into two challenges which are at ColourQ by using black/ white with a spot of colour and at Craft Stamper which is all about "text".

This poppy might look familiar to some of you - it's from PB Divine set.  The original set comes with two poppies only and I added the third one to fill-up the space!

I thought, besides colouring onto this big space, I could also stamped some text onto it - I used HA Newspaper Background stamp.  I did some paper-pieced on this project.  The background splatters are from SU Grundge.  I decided to pop my colour on the leaves.

I added some glossy accents on the leaves to give it a little morning dew look.

Today, is the fifth day that I lost my voice.  The first three days was the worst as I could barely talked just because I had to work with the children.

As it was towards the end of the second term, we had a bake and sale at school.  I had to bake some cookies with the 4-5 years old children.  As you could imagined already, how could I work without talking to them so, I had to force myself with my whisper voice to give some instructions.  I tried to explain to them that I lost my voice - but they just stared at me and gave me a look "why are you whispering, Ms. Lai Yoke?"!  There was one boy who just whispered to me just because I whispered to them!  At times, it's fun to work with this little children as you don't know what to expect from them.

So much for the week and I hope my voice will be back soon!  Have a great Sunday!

** TOP 5 AT HOUSE OF CARDS **
*****************************************************************

Today's card is about "splattering"over at PTI.  I am inspired by the picture shown at House of Cards by using kraft as by base card. First, I added washi tape as the border and splattered some white paints onto the kraft.

The trees are from PTI Topiary Trio which are stamped in different shades of green.  The rhinestones are my baubles on the trees.  The sentiment die cut is from Wplus9.  It's tic-tac-toe challenge at Mod Squad and I picked favourite colour, die cut and bling.  I am also popping this card into Addicted to Stamps and MoreCraft Stamper and Happy Little Stampers.

Merry Monday #170

** HONORABLE MENTIONS at
MERRY MONDAY CHRISTMAS and TKJ **

*****************************************************************

Happy Friday!  Weather has been good to us for the last few days until now with storm and tropical rain!  Hope the weather is better at your place.

Another Christmas card by using the challenges from Merry Monday Christmas which is a colour challenge and  Take Your Pick at The Kraft Journal - I chose Top fold, stamped and seam binding.

I bought this PTI Topiary Trio sometime ago and hardly used it and thought it's a good idea to use it for a Christmas tree.  The background is stenciled in HA white unicorn and machined stitched along both borders.  The trees are stamped in two shades of greens and die cut - love the 3D look on the leaves.

The MFT snowdrift is added with TH clear rock candy and the houses are from SSS Village.  I used the sentiment from Poppy Stamps Vintage Merry Christmas.

I am popping this into Craft Stamper.

Stamping Sensations - Colours of Autumn

** TOP 3 at Stamping Sensations and
Picked as GD at PB & More ***
*****************************************************************
It seems like I am squeezing as many cards as I could make this week before the school begins next week again.

I feel like colouring today so I ended up stamping PB Divine onto a watercolour paper and started painting in TH distress inks.  The poppies are coloured in spiced marmalade, winter berries and aged mahagony and the leaves are coloured in iced spruce and evergreen bough.  The background is stamped randomly with SU Grundge.  Then, I doodled along the branches and sprayed some glimmer mist. The sentiment is from Kaisercraft Blue Bay.

I am popping this into the following challenges Stamping Sensations30 day coloring challenge by The Daily MarkerThe Mixed Media Challenge and Penny Black and More.

ABNH - Metalic

** UPDATED : WINNER **
*****************************************************************

I am starting with my first Christmas card of the year. Today's card, is about metalic at the A Blog Named Hero.

The side panel is stamped with HA Tiny Stars in black and heat embossed.  The splatters are heat embossed in gold by using SU Grundges.  Added a narrow gold strip.  The sentiment is from Wplus9 and the cute little penguin is from Mama Elephant.

In-laid the die cut sentiment

Here is part two of my Scandinavia trip, if you have want to see part one, you could have a peep here.  There are lots of pictures on this posting and I hope I won't bored you.

Nobel Price Center in Olso, Norway

There are lots of waterfalls in the region

We had a train and ferry tour.  Up high in the mountain, the glaciers are still visible.

I 've been wanting to see The fjords for several years already and finally the day has arrived....

Several narrow waterfalls within a small a mountain

To our surprise, there are so many tunnels in Norway and I think we had driven about 70 tunnels within 2 weeks ranging from 500m to 24.5km.

Yes, 24.5km tunnel - it's the longest tunnel in the world.  Because it's so long, every 6km there are special lightings designed in the tunnel and there is even a round-about!  This is my first very special light-up and a round-about in a tunnel!

Another waterfall along the way

Bergen - World Heritage City

more fjords....

Ok. I won't lie!  This is the coldest summer holiday we ever had and everyone was not happy with it - it was about 12-18 degrees celcius.  But with the breathtaking landscapes and views - I am ok with it!

One of our chalets in a beautiful nature area

view from our chalet

view from our chalet at 11pm - sun still shinning.  It never gets dark when we were there!

Did a hike to a mountain. About 400m above sea level

Towards the end of the holiday at Southern part of Norway, Stavanger.  One of the cutest and colourful wooden houses I have even seen!

I hope you have enjoyed some of Norway.  I know the fjord pictures were not as great but you have to be there to exprience the real thing.  DH has driven more than 4000km in total out of which I drove only 20km in Germany.  I know I am not a driver but I had to drive in Germany as some part of the country has no speed limit so I drove my top speed at 150km!  Woohoo!

The kids are going on camp this weekend and the two oldies are taking the opportunity to fly out to Newcastle, UK.

Thanks for dropping by and have a great weekend!
