SSS Flickr Challenge £41

I am so ready for Spring to come that I chose yellow for this gift box for a
colleague.  I used SSS Thinking of You set for the background stamping-I kept it simple.  The butterfly is a die-cut which is lightly distressed at the edge.

I am popping this gift box into the following challenges : Work It Wednesday Simon SaysSSS Flickr Challenge and STAMPlorations challenge.

Added a twine.  The sentiment is embossed in gold.

The inside of the box is stamped in polka dots.  I also made a sleeve for the box.

Wishing you a good week ahead.  Thanks for dropping by!

SSS Flickr Challenge #39

Some of you might recognise this overlap stamping during the Simon Says Bloghop which happened a couple of days ago.  There is a video tutorial done by by Jennifer McGuire during the hop.

I decided to give it a try on a tag which is also the challenge over at SSS Flickr Challenge.  Since the tag is so colourful, I decided to leave the pot of cactus from SSS Cups and Succulent white except clear embossed the cactus.  Then, I used the SSS Thanks die cut as an inlaid.  The background is stamped with SU Grunge and some glossy accents are added randomly.

Thank you everyone for your well wishes. My voice is slowly returning but I am still not talking too much yet.  Some of you might wonder, how can I not talk for a week long? Well, by nature I am a quite person, so this doesn't really affect me! However, my DH is kinda affected because there is not much response from me!

Thank you for taking time to drop by...

SSS Flickr Challenge #36

Hi folks, hope everything is well with you.

My first card after a long break and decided to go for a one-layer challenge over at SSS Flickr Challenge.  The background is painted in watercolour and once it's dried, I stamped the SSS One with Nature.  I added the sentiment from SSS Cups and Succulents in between the images as I thought it was rather empty.

Enjoy your Friday and crafty weekend!

Merry Monday #173

Happy Sunday to all!  Here is a quick post for the challenge over at Merry Monday Christmas.  The theme for this week is rainbow colours.  I decided to decorate my christmas trees with colourful sequins for this challenge. The background is stenciled with SSS Falling Snow with diamond paste.

I am also linking this up into Simon Wednesday ChallengeSimon Says WCD contest and SSS Work It Wednesday.

Thanks for dropping by.

SSS Work It Wednesday - August

All the while I have been taken it for granted for all the off days that I have during the weeks until recently I started working fulltime temporarily.  Today, I am so happy because it's a special off day and I made full use of it by making two cards.

Although, Halloween is not celebrated in The Netherlands, I just wanted to make one. I don't owe many Halloween stamps and decided to use SSS Village dies and turned it into a spooky houses!  The adorable ghosts are from Memory Dies which I bought last year in Canada.  The sentiment is a mix from HA and SSS sets which are stamped and heat embossed in white.  I am popping this card into SSS Work It Wednesday and Simon Wednesday Challenge.

Thanks for dropping by.

SSS Flickr Challenge #27

Yesterday, we had torrential rain the whole day and my thoughts were with those who were on the roads especially on bikes.  I can't remember the last time we had such a bad weather. There is not much changes in today's weather as well.

As the weather is rather depressing, we move onto some colourful challenges over at SSS Flickr Challenge and SSS Wednesday Challenge.  It took me a while to find the complimentary colours from the colour wheel.

Finally, I decided to use MFT Abstract Art for the background and stamped and trimmed the flowers from SSS Thinking of You set.

Thank you for dropping by and have a good weekend!

SSS Flickr Challenge #26

As the school has started, the 4-5 years are straining my energy away. I feel so exhausted every night and caught myself dozing off on the couch at 8pm.

Here is a quick posting today for SSS Flickr Challenge.   The background is from HA Tiny Starts stamped and heated embossed in silver. Die cut a semi-circle vellum and stamped the sentiment from SSS Merry Trees.  The snowdrift dies are from MFT which I coated with TH clear rock candy. The houses are from SSS Village and the trees are from SSS Merry Trees.

Thanks for popping by!

SSS #26

** FEATURED AT Colour Throwdown **

*****************************************************************
Although, I have not been around lately in the blogland, I am still making cards - it's just that I am lazy to blog my cards.

Anyway, a simple card which all about pastel at Simon Says Flickr Challenge.  I am using the SSS Scribble Flowers, MFT Textile Background and the sentiment is from Altenew.  For this card, I am using the colour inspiration from Color Throwdown.

Weather has been bad over with lots of rain and I hope yours is better off than us.  Have a good day!

TGIF #11

Yeah!  Summer holiday has officially started and we are driving to Scandinavia countries next week.  Our first stop will be Copenhagen which is about 950km.

I am playing at TGIF and The Kraft Journal with the theme "summer".

Die cut the tag in kraft paper and stamped with HA unicorn ink with MFT Abstract Art.  The sentiment die cut is from SSS.  The adorable summer plant is from PS Perky Plants which is stamped, heat embossed, coloured and fussy cut.  Lastly, I added a tiny piece of the spellbinder Fancy Tag Three on the side of the tag.

Added some twines and sequins

Thank you for dropping by and have a good weekend!

TKJ #230

Today, we visited a friend who lives in the southern part of Holland and the temperature reader in the car kept in rising!  When we arrived at our destination the temperature was 37.5 degrees celcius.  I have never experience such high temperature in Holland before.

Today is also the official kick-off of Tour de France in Utrecht the 4th biggest city in Holland.  It's the 102th tour made up of 21 stages and covers a total of 3360 km.

As the school term is coming to the end, I made a couple of thank you gifts for some of the conceirge/ adminstrative staff who are usually forgotten by parents. This is one of  the few which I made and I went for a match-box suitcase design.  I am going for the colour theme "red/ white/ blue for the colour challenge at The Kraft Journal.

The sentiment die cut is from SSS.  I only die cut the letter "T" in white and the rest in red.

Put some chocolates and made a matching tag.

Thank you for taking time to visit me!

SSS Flickr Challenge #20

Barb is organising her 20th challenge over at SSS Flickr Challenge with a summer theme.  I pulled out my SSS Frozen Treat dies for this card.  Cut five of them and coloured in copics, stamped the letters and clear heat embossed.  I also wanted to make a shaker card but because the dies has two different shapes, I could not do what I wanted to.  Therefore, I came up with a different idea.

Die cut the "You" on a white cardstock.  As this time, I die cut it on a bigger surface instead of making several die cuts to raise the sentiment, it is a little bit difficult unless I put dimensional dots all over the card. I don't really know how to explain but I hope you know what I mean....

I recycled one of the plastic I found in my craft paper bin.  Cut into size.

put in the sequins and stitched to close all corners

cellotaped to secure into the right place

ta-da!

Weather has been good over here! Thanks for dropping by!

SSS Flickr Challenge #19

Yeah! Another long weekend is coming up again - so happy especially the weather is predicted to be good.

Onto the card for today, I chose the colour challenge from Color Throwdown and making my own background from SSS Flickr Challenge.   I realised that I've been making tags lately but I don't know why - it just came to me!

I used all the mini stamps from Simon Says Thinking of You set and stamped them randomly.  Then, I cut a piece of tag from vellum and machine-stitched along the sides.  As for the sentiment which is also from Simon Says, I swiped the sames colours on a white cardstock and run thru the CB.

Peeped behind the vellum

Have a good and crafty day!

STAMPlorations - CASplorations April

It seems like a while ago that I made a card.  The school is having a week break and it's nice to be at home with the children without rushing in the morning.

Today's card is all about CASing one of the DTs at STAMPlorations and I have chosen Vicki Dutcher.  I was drawn by the technique which she used with background stenciling with the "open" stamp in black ink.

Here is my card by using the bricks which is stenciled in TH distress inks Peeled Paint and Faded Jeans. Then, I used my favourite stamp from SSS Scribble Flowers to stamp onto the stenciled background.  The colours which I used are colour challenge from Colour Throwdown and this is also a one-layer card which I would like to pop into One Layer Simplicity.  I can't really capture the colour but in real, the colour stands out more than shown here.  I am also putting this card into SSS Flickr ChallengeCraft StamperSeize the Birthday.

Thanks for dropping by and have a nice day!

SSS Flickr #17

I was inspired by this IKEA fabric which I sew for my living room's cushions.

Using this inspiration, I took my Simon Says Stamp Scribble to create a one-layer card.  It's a simple and quick card to create and I really enjoyed making it especially using the colours from this week's colour challenge at SSS Flickr challenge.  The sentiment is from Altenew.

I am also popping this into Simon Wednesday Challenge - Clean and Simple and Allsorts Challenge.

Thanks for dropping by.

LIM #218

"Predominently Black" is the colour challenge over at Less Is More.  I have chosen to use the set WPlus8 Fresh Cut Floral which are stamped in HA Soft Granite and black.  The background stamping is from SU Grunge set and the die cut is from SSS which is die cut in black and blue as a second colour.  The corner stripes is from Reverse Confetti set.  Added some matching blue rhinestones on the flower.

I am also popping this card into WPlus9 - Thursday Throwback and The Paper Players.

This card will go to Taylored Expressions - Share the Joy Campaign.

Thanks for dropping by.

Flickr Co-challenge SSS & Lawn Fawn #2

This is my second submission for the challenges over at flickr challenges.  Check them out here and here.

I really had fun making this card as I did not really plan how it turned out at the end.

The background panel is embossed with music folder on a vellum.  The panel sky is distressed lightly.  I used MFT snowdrift for the grass and the houses are from SSS village which are die cut in two different colours and adhered onto dark brown cardstocks to create the shade.

The lovely koala is from Lawn Fawn Down Under - cut, paperpieced and coloured in copics.  Then I thought I was done but I wanted to add another animal and decided on a crocodile.  Why pink, you might be wondering - well because I had a pink house and something pinky need to come back onto the scene!

Made the sun from twine.

This part was totally unplanned but I was giggling all the time while trying to finish the card!  I really had fun making this card!

Thanks for dropping by!

Flickr co-challenge SSS & Lawn Fawn

Usually, I would say "YAY! It's Friday" but as the week is ending soon which means school/ work will be starting in 3 days' time!

Aiyah! I am glad that I have a week off whereby I could catch-up with several things and also making cards.  First-up, have you heard of the flickr co-challenge with Simon Says Stamp and Lawn Fawn - do check them out over here and here.  It's all about "Get Crafty with Kraft".

Here is my one-layer card. The base kraft is stamped lightly with MFT Woodgrain and I used the half-die cutting technique with the oval scallop to create the opening.  The die cut is from SSS Small Hello which is adhered onto the scallops.  The butterfly and leaves are from Lawn Fawn Blissful Botanical.  I am using the colour challenge from Color Throwdown and this card will also go into The Kraft Journal.

Thanks for dropping by and have a great weekend!

SSS Flickr Challenge #11

Made this card a few days ago and forgot to post it and just realised that today is the deadline.

I bought this SSS Frozen Treats die last year and never got a chance to use it until now.  I wanted something different other than using the normal valentine dies and decided to use this couple.  Once the ice-creams were cut out, I distressed them with TH inks and clear embossed them twice.  To make it a little bit more romantic I had to lean them on each other! A piece of heart-shape vellum is attached on the background.  The sentiment is also from SSS Just a Love Note.

I am popping this into the following challenges : SSS Flickr ChallengeSSS Work It WednesdayNaughty or NiceStempel kueche and Inspiration Journal challenges.

Thanks for dropping by and have a great day!
