Yeah!  It's Friday and the sun is shining - a perfect to start the weekend although it will be a busy weekend for me because Maurice is turning 15 on Monday and the families will be coming on Sunday. I will be busy cooking!

Recently, I am into the "blocking" mood and decided to play with this sketch at MFT using the autumn colours which is the challenge over at Penny Black and More.  I am also entering this card to Simon Says Stamp.

I am using the MFT set Blooming Roses which are stamped with raspberry and vintage sepia inks. The sentiment is from MFT Party Time.

Waltzing Mouse Blog Party

there, today is the 17th of the month which means it's blog party time at Waltzing Mouse. This month's theme is Spring Flower.  This is the first time that I am participating with this blog party and I am looking forward to visit the rest of the participants' creations.

I wanted the card to be tall and skinny but my A4 card does not allow me to do that so I had to extend the second panel. The base card is punched on both sides with MS punch.  The second panel is stamped with the Waltzing Mouse Large Doily set in three different colours and paperpieced on the middle part.  Stickles are added on the buttons and added machine-stitched on the border. This time, instead of using a ribbon, I used a lace which give a more feminine look.

I also stamped the inside of the card.

Lawnscaping Challenge #55

Hello Wednesday!  So happy that the cold is slowly moving away and the warmer weather is visiting us.

Last weekend, DH and me cycled a total of 60km.  On Saturday, we cycled 28km thru the dunes with beautiful landscape but the weather was still cold.  On Sunday, we cycled 32km towards the lake area with 2 stopover.  Well, the intention was to loose some weight but the kids had to laugh at us as we had McDonald for lunch and ice-cream on the second break.  It was a long trip but we enjoyed ourselves very much and we told the kids that they will be tagging along with us on our next 32km trip!

Enough of the cycling trip. I have another card to be posted into Lawnscaping Challenge which is ending in 14 hrs' time.  The theme is still embossing and I have chosen to use both the heat and dry embossing.  The owl is from Lawn Fawn Critters in the Forest set which is paperpieced, heat embossed and coloured with copics.  For this card, I used 3 different embossing folders and the punch is from MS.

Dynamic Duos #42

Happy Wednesday!  When I went to school on Monday,  after a 2 weeks break the kids were so happy to see me that I got hugs and kisses from them!  It gives such a nice feeling knowing that the children are happy to see me again.

Moving on to today's challenge at The Dynamic Duos Challenge and The Ribbon Girls, I made a gift box for  my colleague at school.  I stamped the doily from Waltzing Mouse in yellow twice on a white cardstock.  The white panel is embossed with a patchwork embossing folder.

A special sleeve is made for this box so that you don't need to re-tie the ribbon once it is opened so that receiver no need to fumble with tying the ribbon again.  All she needs to do is to slide the sleeve thru the box.  So I attached the card panel onto the sleeve instead onto the box itself.  As for the ribbon, I made a small little cut on the sleeve so that it was not necessary to go the full round.

I put in a few cards into the box.

DD #38

Hope everyone had a lovely weekend and welcome Monday!

Another reason to make a Valentine card with the combined challenges from Hero Arts and Dynamic Duos.  I have not used the HA Starbust Lace for a long time and now there is a reason to use it as the challenge over at Hero Arts is all about Love and Lace.  This card also enters into The Ribbon Girls, Hand Stamped Sentiments , Artfull Crafts and V Sweet Ideas challenges.

The Starburst is stamped onto a pink vellum and heat embossed in white and fuzzy cut.  The red heart is cut using the heart die twice and I also added a layer of mesh to give an extra touch to the red. The sentiment is from HA Everyday Saying which is stamped in black on a mini heart white cardstock.  

A border punch from MS is also added just below the ribbon.

TAW Be Inspired #20

Be Inspired challenge over at The Alley Way Stamps Challenge.  

The background is stamped with Awesome Bloosom.  A couple of layers are added to the card as from the inspirational photo.  The sentiment in the middle is also from the same set but I cut it into two pieces.  Thanks for dropping by!

Have not been playing at The Dynamic Duos for quite sometime now and I love the theme of this week as I am planning to send more cards to Cards from the Heart Card Drive. 

Unfortunately, it's dark at this hour and I could not capture the redness of my card.  Pretty simple direct card to make which involves a couple of layers of border punch to make 3/4 of the front panel and the top embossing is from SU.  The sentiment is from Unity Stamp which is heat embossed in white on a black cardstock. I also added a belt loop on my polka dots ribbon.  

As this is a Valentine card, I am also submitting this card to Penny Black at All Sorts, Purple Onions Designs

Hope everyone is enjoying your Sunday.  Last Tuesday, we had about 15cm of snow and the temperature remains below freezing point and today we had more snow again - 10cm.  Although the temperature is -5 degrees celcius but with the wind coming from the east it felt like -10 degrees celcius.  

Despite the cold, DH and I went for an hour walk and took a couple of shots.  

All the ducks were rushing to us the moment we were coming close to them as they thought that we had food for them - poor ducks!  On left hand side, the swan was chasing away the duck as it thought that we brought some food for them!

I am working fulltime again this week which means that I will have little time to make card but I hope to be able to sneak in at least one.  Thank you for sweet comments and wishing you a lovely day!

I hope everyone had a good weekend and wishing you crafty week ahead.

Today, I am sharing another project with a matching card.   What would I do without my cuttlebug?   This is a gift handbag by using my new quilt embossing folder and I received many questions about this folder (please see below for the pic).  I am using the color challenge from CR84FN and using the quilt folder to design the bag.

The flap is a heart-shaped die cut which is snipped off a little on both sides to fit into the bag.  I love how the double scallops turned out.  The handle is from hand punch from MS.  I also made a matching girly card with a little pocket whereby a gift card can fit in.

Charity Bag

Hello Thursday!  I am donating this bag filled with cards to the school which I am working as there is a summer party before the school year ends.  Many items will be auctioned whereby the money will be donated to the charity. 

No stamping today but lots of shapes and embossing involved.  My latest buy is the embossing folder from SU which I used it for the flap.  I also added some twine as a decoration on the bag which is also a challenge at Timeless Twine and because it's a non-card project, I am so entering this into Simon Says Stamp.  This week's challenge at DYSU is inspired by movie.  Immediately, I thought of Sex and the City as there are always lots of designers' clothes, shoes and bags to look out for.

Easter

Sharing with you some simple Easter projects by using one of my favourite tools - the cuttlebug.  The two bunnies are constructed from dies.  The basket is made from the origami fold which provide a stronger structure to carry the choco eggs.

Moxie Fab World - Blues Challenge

This is my second submission for the winter blues at Moxie Fab World.  Again, I used colour pencils to colour the butterfly and added glossy accent to bring out the colours.  The background is stamped with HA Envelope stamp and at the lower panel of the card is stamped with HA Wild Flower which is heat embossed. 

With this card, I was also inspired by the design at Sir Stampalot Challenge from Francesca with her blues and butterfly.

Moxie Fab World - Blues Challenge

Over at Moxie Fab World, they are celebrating a week long Party Ensembles with so many yummy ideas for throwing a party or just anything that inspire you to create.

Basically, winter is over in this part of the world and we are moving towards the spring temperature already.  Yup!  No more snow and this year I made a record of no falling down on the icy road while cycling!

Back to my project of today, I made this cute little handbag by using the free stamp which came with a magazine.  Love the sweets and I coloured them with color pencils as my copics collection is only very limited.  I am happy with the end result so does Claire as this is for her birthday party which she will be attending on Saturday.  I also made a matching mini card which fit easily into the handbag.

Guest Designer

In December, when Brenda told me that I've been selected to be the Guest Designer of February for Stampalot Challenge, I was so thrilled, excited and speechless with this opportunity! 

I was asked to design a card with the theme "In the Garden".  Instead of making a card, I can't resist making two cards by using the same stamp! 

For this theme, I used PB Lace Edged to create a tri-fold card.  The image is stamped with distress ink Festive Berries and heat embossed with clear powder.  I also did a little bit of masking here so that the image covers the length of the card. 

As for the second card, I stamped the background in light pink on a kraft which gives a very special effect on the card - a little silky look! 

The middle panel is stamped with HA Manuscript and heat embossed with white powder.  The PB stamped is also heat embossed in white powder and I cut part of the flower to attach on the manuscript.
