Freshly Made Sketches #202

Hi everyone....is it raining where you are?  We have had torrential rains for the last couple of days already - not the whole day but still..... it's too much water at the moment!  It seems like autumn has arrived!

In such rainy weather, what's better than staying at home and making cards. Using the sketch from CAS (E) this Sketch and Freshly Made Sketches, here is what I made.  The background is stamped with staz on white with HA Tiny Stars and the silver sentiment die cut is from Wplus9.  I have this adorable bear for a long time already and decided to use it again.  Stamped and watercoloured the image and added stickles on the shawl.  A piece of acetate is stamped with the same HA Tiny Stars.

Inside is distressed

Thank you for dropping by and have a good weekend!

ABNH - Metalic

** UPDATED : WINNER **
*****************************************************************

I am starting with my first Christmas card of the year. Today's card, is about metalic at the A Blog Named Hero.

The side panel is stamped with HA Tiny Stars in black and heat embossed.  The splatters are heat embossed in gold by using SU Grundges.  Added a narrow gold strip.  The sentiment is from Wplus9 and the cute little penguin is from Mama Elephant.

In-laid the die cut sentiment

Here is part two of my Scandinavia trip, if you have want to see part one, you could have a peep here.  There are lots of pictures on this posting and I hope I won't bored you.

Nobel Price Center in Olso, Norway

There are lots of waterfalls in the region

We had a train and ferry tour.  Up high in the mountain, the glaciers are still visible.

I 've been wanting to see The fjords for several years already and finally the day has arrived....

Several narrow waterfalls within a small a mountain

To our surprise, there are so many tunnels in Norway and I think we had driven about 70 tunnels within 2 weeks ranging from 500m to 24.5km.

Yes, 24.5km tunnel - it's the longest tunnel in the world.  Because it's so long, every 6km there are special lightings designed in the tunnel and there is even a round-about!  This is my first very special light-up and a round-about in a tunnel!

Another waterfall along the way

Bergen - World Heritage City

more fjords....

Ok. I won't lie!  This is the coldest summer holiday we ever had and everyone was not happy with it - it was about 12-18 degrees celcius.  But with the breathtaking landscapes and views - I am ok with it!

One of our chalets in a beautiful nature area

view from our chalet

view from our chalet at 11pm - sun still shinning.  It never gets dark when we were there!

Did a hike to a mountain. About 400m above sea level

Towards the end of the holiday at Southern part of Norway, Stavanger.  One of the cutest and colourful wooden houses I have even seen!

I hope you have enjoyed some of Norway.  I know the fjord pictures were not as great but you have to be there to exprience the real thing.  DH has driven more than 4000km in total out of which I drove only 20km in Germany.  I know I am not a driver but I had to drive in Germany as some part of the country has no speed limit so I drove my top speed at 150km!  Woohoo!

The kids are going on camp this weekend and the two oldies are taking the opportunity to fly out to Newcastle, UK.

Thanks for dropping by and have a great weekend!

Thursday Throwback #5

Weather has been hot and humid over here reaching a record of 38 degrees celcius in the Southern part of Holland. Luckily, I live close by the sea so the sea breeze does helps to cool things off.

I am using Wplus9 Fresh Cut Florals for this card by using the colour challenge from Colour Throwdown.   I was inspired by Maureen Meritt of Wplus9 but did a twist by making it into a shaker card!  I am also popping this into Addicted to Stamps.

Somehow, my stamping on the acetate did not turn out so well but it was saved by the multi-colured sequins!

Thanks for dropping by!

Thursday Throwback #4

Can't believe that it's already June.  My son has finished his exam and doing nothing at home at the moment as he called it - he needs to chill-out!  As for my daughter, it is another 5 weeks and for me it will be 6 weeks!

Back to the stamping - I was inspired by the colour inspiration from Color Throwdown and Mama Mo Stamps's design.  I tried to combine both and this is what I came up.

The stripes background is from PTI and I used the die cut from MFT.  The base card and the bouquet are stamped with Wplus9 Fresh Floral Cuts.

Maureen added a strip at the bottom of the card but instead of that, I used an acetate and stamped the bottom with sentiment.  Some stickles are added randomly on the flowers.

Thanks for dropping by!

WPlus9 - Get Sketcy with Joni #1

** edited : Top Picks at Colour Me & TKJ **

Getting "krafty" again for this week's card.  Basing the the sketch from WPlus9 and picking three items from The Kraft Journal which are "tag, feminine and stamped".  As for the colours, I am using the colour inspiration from Colour Me.

For this card, I used the WPlus9 Fresh Floral Cut stamped, coloured and die cut.  I thought it would be fun to die-cut the teapot from Poppy Stamps on an acetate.   The sentiment is stamped with Staz-on black on the teapot.

Usually, I keep the rib cardstock from my food packaging and this time I just had to use it for as my tag. I thought to zig-zag machine stitched the kraft would give a little more interest on the kraft on kraft look!

I am also entering this into Verve StampsStamping Sensations and AAA Cards for celebrating their 1st Birthday!

Color Throwdown #333

The beautiful sunny weather has left us and the clouds have found their way over
on this part of the country!

I just got my first set of stamp from Wplus9 Fresh Cut Florals and had to play with it.  When I saw the colour inspiration from Make The Day Special Cards I decided to choose the middle colour  challenge.  The border stitch is from MFT and the sentiment is from Verve Stamp Wishing You.

I am popping this into the following challlenges : Penny Black at All SortsAll Sorts ChallengeThe Paper PlayersThe Verve StampsCraft Stamper Magazine and Colour Throwdown. challenges.

Added acetate on the front panel as I wanted to make a shaker card but changed my mind.

This is my first try on the double bow and love how it turned out. Added some pearls on the flowers too.

Thanks for dropping by and a good Sunday!
