Viva la Verve Sketches Apr #1

It's sketchy week at Viva la Verve.  I don't usually use patterned paper but I can't resist using this one today.

The sentiment which I use today is from the set Verve Because of You. The spellbinders for this card are labels seventeen, label ten and majestic elements. I also did a triple bow to balance up the sketch!

I am also popping this card into Simon Wednesday Challenge.

Have a fabulous weekend!

Verve Feb Challenge

I made this card last week as I was inspired by the photo and the colours at Verve Stamps especially all the spring colours.

The background is stenciled in grey ink with the bricks stencil.  I used the embossed resist technique for the flowers and love the soft delicate look of them-the set is called Verve Because of you.  Some metalic twine is also added on the top righthand corner bunch.

I am popping this card into Time Out Challenge and Word Art Wednesday challenges.

Thanks for dropping by and have a good day!

Verve Challenge

One more week to go and we will have our autumn break. Today, I am making a card combining two challenges from CAS-ual Fridays and Verve Stamps.

For the tic-tac  challenge, I chose for "embossing, die-cutting and stenciling".  As for the inspiration challenge, it's about black and white with glam.

I used the set from Verve Because of You and Blessings for this tag card.  The black tag is heat embossed in white with the stamp from HA Manuscript.  The top white tag is stenciled lightly in black. Then the flower  and sentiment are heat embossed in fine gold.

Wishing you a good week ahead!

Die R Us

Lots of layering for today's card that it's going to cost me a bomb to send out internationally.  However, if it's for a good friend - why not.

This card involved lots of die cutting.  The border is from spellbinder Scalloped Border Two.  I alternated each layers with white and kraft and on the second layer, I zig-zag machine stitched it and the top layer is dry embossed.  The sentiment is from Verve and the die cut is from A2 Filigree Delight.  All white edges were lightly distressed with TH Victorian Velvet.

As for the flower, I found some fabric washi tapes and I taped them onto a punched circles cardstock and wrinkle them.  Thereafter, I distressed the edges with TH Antique Linen.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges : Dies R USPenny Black and MoreAll Sorts Challenge and The Kraft Journal.

Weather has been glorious that DH and I made a cycle tour of about 24km and along the water close to our area.

A close-up of the windmill. I believed this windmill was used for wood sawing years ago.

Color Throwdown #333

The beautiful sunny weather has left us and the clouds have found their way over
on this part of the country!

I just got my first set of stamp from Wplus9 Fresh Cut Florals and had to play with it.  When I saw the colour inspiration from Make The Day Special Cards I decided to choose the middle colour  challenge.  The border stitch is from MFT and the sentiment is from Verve Stamp Wishing You.

I am popping this into the following challlenges : Penny Black at All SortsAll Sorts ChallengeThe Paper PlayersThe Verve StampsCraft Stamper Magazine and Colour Throwdown. challenges.

Added acetate on the front panel as I wanted to make a shaker card but changed my mind.

This is my first try on the double bow and love how it turned out. Added some pearls on the flowers too.

Thanks for dropping by and a good Sunday!

CFC #132 & BIC #53

Have you seen the latest challenge over at CAS-ual Fridays?  It's about creating a masculine card without using kraft but need to use ribbon on your project....hmm! This is going to be interesting and I thought I should give a go for it.

This card was inspired by the glass-stained which I usually see in churches.  This set is from Background Check from The Alley Way Stamps - stamped and heat embossed in black and coloured with copics.  Love how it turned out.  I double scored all the borders and the sentiment is from Verve.  I am also entering this card in Simon Wednesday Challenge.

We are expecting tropical heat weather tomorrow at about 30 degrees.  I am not so keen on this kind of heat but I do know that a lot of dutch are dying for this weather.   Have a great weekend!

Colour Me - Monochromatic

Yay! It's Friday and I worked today with the grade one as the assistant had a off day.  When the reception students saw me at the corridor - they were surprised but at the same time kept on calling me! They are just so adorable....

I am into the spellbinder dies lately and ordered a couple recently.  Here are my latest Captivating Squares and Card Creator Diamond Effects.

I am using the colour challenge from Colour Me challenge and using the font/ sentiment focus from Verve Stamps challenge.  I chose this sentiment for this card as I was inspired by the challenge over at Time Out Challenges with the theme "Time Flies, Love Lasts".... !

Have a great weekend!

Reverse Confetti #12

After 2 weeks school holiday, I went to work yesterday and it is rather amazing to see the children has grown during those weeks.

Today's card is using the sketch from Reverse Confetti and something pink and sweet from Curtain Call Challenge.

I am using the set Very Stripey to make a shaker card.  The sentiment is from the set Blessings - Verve which is stamped with StazOn on the acetate.  I had to use my new wooden tag too!  A piece of vellum which is embossed is also added onto the background and I love my new border dies from Magnolia.

This card also enters into Verve Stamps.

Viva la Verve Sketches - April

It has been a long time since I did two postings per day. Anyway, this is my second posting as I wanted to submit this card into Viva la Verve Sketches by using this sketch and this colour challenges from Colour Me!

I used spellbinders Filigree Delight to assemble this card.  Embossed the background with SU embossing folder and the sentiment is from Verve Stamp Because of You which is stamped with white ink onto a piece of vellum.   Double die-cut the butterfly whereby the bottom layer is a burlap and added pearls and sequins on the background.  Finished it off with some twines.

I am submitting this card into Curtain Call challenge and Stamping Sensations.

MOJO Monday #336

Sending you beautiful spring weather from here.  I just can't believe how beautiful the weather is today - sunshines, no wind and temperature of about 18 degrees celcius.  Today was my first day enjoying my lunch in the garden - well partly to get away from the dusty house too!

Work is progressing rather slow with the bathroom because they had to patch-up the plaster wall as it was badly in shape.  As the thickness of the plaster is 3cm which is rather thick, it's taking very long to dry which resulted in the delay of putting the tiles.  The constructer said that he can only do it next week which mean a week delay!!  Another week living in the dust....

I needed a sympathy card for my friend's mum who just passed away. Working in my dusty corner by combining the colour challenge from ColourQ and sketch from MOJO Monday.  I am also linking this up in The Kraft Journal.

The newspaper print and stripes are from HA. The feather dies are from MFT which are cut twice in kraft and black. The sentiment is from Verve which is heat embossed in black.

enjoy the rest of the evening!

Anniversary Card

Hi Peep, Hope you had a lovely Sunday.  Yesterday, we had a lovely weather as the temperature shoot up to 22 degrees in the late afternoon. And today we are greeted with rain!!

I don't usually have the opportunity to make Anniversary card but my dear blog friend, Annette is celebrating her 18th anniversary this month.  Because this is also special card to make, I would also like to enter this card into Stamping Sensations and TSG Challenge challenge.

Keeping it clean and simple, I wanted to use washi tape for this card for her.  This washi tape was given by my blog friend Kailash.  I sticked the washi tape around a white cardstock and die cut it and put another panel of white cardstock.  The sentiment is from Verve which is heat embossed.

As for the inside of the card, I also used the washi tape around the paper and finished it with another smaller piece of white cardstock.  This card also enters into the following challenge : Die-Cut-Divas
