This is my second week off and I am treasuring every moment of it.  I did a lot of spring cleaning - OMG!  Everything is so dusty!

Have you heard about the latest challenge over at ABNH - all about Tone on Tone!  It was kind of a challenge to me as I took awhile to figure to make a reasonable card.

One thing I like about ABNH is that they encourage using old HA stamps and I decided to pull out HA Starburst Lace.  My tone on tone stamping is simply by using black ink on the black background and a contrast HA unicorn ink.  The sentiment is heat embossed in white on a torn vellum.

I would like to pop this card into the following challenge Stamping Sensations, House of Cards, CASology and CAS-ual Fridays.

PTI MIM #247

I made this card for my father as his hearing is getting poorer.  Everytime, I call home, he could barely hear me and I had to shout at the top of my voice.  Three days ago, when I called him, I spent 5 minutes explaining that it was me and he still could not get me until my mum took over!

Therefore, I decided that I should go back to the old fashion way to communication by sending him a card.

At PTI MIM, Melissa showed us some fun with watercolouring.  For this card, I used PTI A Little Agryle which I used it for the background stamping.  The tree is from PTI Father Knows Best which is stamped on watercolour cardstock and heat embossed in white.  Then, I used TH distress inks to watercolour the image and did some sprinkling.  Lastly, I added some clear sequins.

Weather has been very nice the last few days and it's going to continue for the next days....  

Yesterday, DH and I decided to go cycling to look for fields of tulips which we always do almost every year!  We cycled about 17.5km knowing what is ahead of us until we saw this.... and I thought, I still need to go home.....

We missed the season-my heart sank!  Then we cycled a little bit further to look around and found these.  These are nothing as compared to previous years but I was happy with them.

PDC - Colour Splash Time

Hi folks,

It's the time of the year again to share with you the beauty when Holland is bloomed with flowers.  Every year we drove to hunt for the fields of flowers but this year we decided to cycle to make this tour which was more relax but more tiring. In total, we did a 36km returned trip but we have no complain as the weather was just absolutely beautiful.

Somehow, this year I don't see many tulips or is it simply because of the long winter that the tulips are not bloomed yet?  However, if you would like to see more tulips, please see here which were taken during the last years.

Last year, I remembered my dear niece visited us during this time of the year and we had so much fun hunting for the flowers.  Miss you, dear Vivien!

First, before I show you the flowers, I would like to share with you the card for today which is a colour challenge over at The Play Date Cafe.  There is no stamping required with this card at all but involved lots of cutting, embossing and machine-stitched. Very simple to make but repetitive design which I do like occasionally.

Fields of ....

We are so fortunate that we are living closeby the bulbs region which allows me to make a last minute trip last week before preparing for Easter dinner for the in-laws.  We were lucky as the weather was reasonably good and met quite a number of tourists!

I had to share this daffodil with you as I've never seen one with this colour before - I called it a fried egg daffodil!

As the tulips were not fully bloomed yet as in rows and rows of them, I think we will make another trip soon.  Thank you for dropping by and hope to post more photos soon!

Tuesday Trigger - Sweet Surprise

This week's challenge at Tuesday Trigger. 

Looking closely at the white lacey background, I thought using the HA Large Fabric would fit into the lacey part which is white embossed.  The sentiment is from PB which is also embossed.  This card also enters into the following challenge A Blog Named Hero, The Pink Elephant

My in-laws are coming over for Easter dinner and I need to prepare dinner for 12 people - should I prepare western or asian food? I think I will go for western.   How about you, are planning anything for the Easter?
