Take It Make It Challenge - July

The Embossed Resist Technique is this month's challenge over at Craft Stamper.  I have not done this technique for quite a while already and thought this should be fun to do again.

The background is from HA Newspaper Background which is stamped and heat embossed in white.  Distressed the background in several summery colours and as I wanted a little bit more interest, I did a few splashes of water.  The sentiment is from Kaisercraft which is heat embossed and doodled along the edge.

As for the flowers, I used PTI Fancy Folk Art and did some paperpieced and coloured the flowers and added some crackle paint on them.

I am entering this card into A Blog Named Hero and Stamping Sensations.

I will be posted to a new school location next year which is further away and the travelling time will be doubled - not happy but there is nothing that I can do about it!

I try to cycle to work when the weather is dry and during the brighter days and the distance is about 13.5km per way.  It's very safe to cycle in Holland as there are lots of bicycle paths everywhere and the cyclists are the King!

Today, I had to be at the new location to get to know the staff and the building so I cycled from my current to the new location which is about 3.5km. From the new location, I cycled home which is about 16km and I did total of 30 km! I just wished that with this amount of distance I cycled today, I could see the result weight loss! I need a rest now and thanks for dropping by!

Take It Make It Challenge

I have just learned two new techniques last week and I am going to combine these two together.  I absolutely love how my card turned out today.  The first technique is from Tim Holtz and second technique is from Craft Stamper.  I am also entering this card into Simon Monday Challenge.

Technique #1 : First, colour your stencil in your colour choice.   I used stars stencil but when it came out you could barely see the stars.  (Bare with me for a few more seconds and you will be able to see the result).

 Put a piece of watercolour cardstock over the stencil and spray water over the cardstock.

Technique #2 : Take a piece of wet tissue paper; in this case I used this wet tissue to clean my stamps. Scrunch it into whatever shape you want it to be on your paper, I just make it into a tiny circle as I wanted the end result to come out as a circle.  Dap the wet tissue onto the cardstock for about 10 seconds.  Then remove it and clean or take the cleaner part of the tissue to dap it again on a different spot. Repeat this procedure until you are happy with the result.

Can you see the white spots?  This is the result from the dabbing!

Now you are ready to decorate your cardstock. I stamped the PB Flower Amongst Flower partially and the sentiment is from Craft Companion.  Very very happy with the end result.

Ombré Technique

This is the first time that I am making a card by using gesso as I was inspired by Helen from Craft Stamper - January issue.

I applied some gesso with my fingers on the acetate as I like the idea of the rough texture.  Once it's dry, I applied TH distress inks tunbled glass, broken china, faded jeans and chipped sapphire.  

On another piece of paper, I used the same inks for the flowers diecut.  A piece of feather is added behind the mannequin diecut as I thought it was a little too naked.

Hi Peeps,  I am so happy to share with you that one of my card was published in the UK's magazine, Craft Stamper.

 

I used their free stamps and HA Manuscript Background to create this card.  Since I was using HA stamp, I thought I would be able to receive some incentive but to my dissappointment it was rejected because the magazine did not publish their brand name!!

Moxie Fab World - Blues Challenge

Over at Moxie Fab World, they are celebrating a week long Party Ensembles with so many yummy ideas for throwing a party or just anything that inspire you to create.

Basically, winter is over in this part of the world and we are moving towards the spring temperature already.  Yup!  No more snow and this year I made a record of no falling down on the icy road while cycling!

Back to my project of today, I made this cute little handbag by using the free stamp which came with a magazine.  Love the sweets and I coloured them with color pencils as my copics collection is only very limited.  I am happy with the end result so does Claire as this is for her birthday party which she will be attending on Saturday.  I also made a matching mini card which fit easily into the handbag.

City Crafter #84

Although we do not celebrate Thanksgiving over here but I would like to wish Happy Thanksgiving to all our American friends or to anybody who celebrates it.

Today's palette will be pink and silver.  The background snowflakes stamp is from HA which is heat embossed in silver.

Basically, all images are heat embossed in silver on white or pink papers.  Love the pink and silver bells which I just bought!

CAS-ual Fridays & CR84FN

Count down to 14 hours before the submission for the challenge on CAS-ual Fridays.  Occassionally, I just need a kick to restrict a time frame for myself to make a card otherwise I can't make up my mind.  Too much time is wasted on choosing this or that!

It seems that I am going to make a lot of pink Christmas cards this year.  This is a combined challenges for CAS-ual Fridays and CR84FN.
