Viva la Verve Sketch Week 3

I think I will be making quite a number of gift card this month and I am addicted to them too!  Using the sketch from Viva la Verve Sketches, I am using the set from Blessings for the sentiment and for the inner and the envelope decorations too.  The background stamping is from PTI Damask Designs.

I am popping this into Simon Wednesday Challenge, Word Art Wednesday, Uniko Studio and Dies R Us challenges.

Fab Friday #51

I found a new technique while blogging, perhaps you have heard about it before and it's called Rolling Marble.  It's easy to make and I decided to make one for a friend who is turning 50!

I am combining the sketch from Fab Friday and the colour challenge from The Card Concept.

The background turned out to be quite cool and I should say this fits into the Layered and Graphic style.  I decided to use vellums for the three banners which are dry embossed. The numbers are diecut on a black glittered paper.

As it's a gift card, I decided to use my quick and easy envelope for this card as well.  The sentiment is from SU.

LIM #190

Face The Music and Dance is the challenge at Less Is More.  My son is turning 16 next week and he likes to play guitar.  I used my own inspiration from my daughter's card which you can see here.  I like how the DMC threads look on the card and this time instead of drawing the notes, I managed to find the music dies from Memory Box.  Added some glossy accent on the notes. The guitar is cut from paper patterned which was bought several years ago.  I am also popping this card into Simon Wednesday Challenge with "Anything Goes" and Addicted to Stamps.

As a 16 years old, he only wanted a gift card, so here is the envie on the inner card.  The "happy"sentiment is from Technique Tuesday and the "birthday"is from PTI.  The flap of the envelope is stamped with the HA Music Background.

Today has been raining and I guess autumn is really here....

Seize the Birthday

Today's is my little girl's birthday and she turns 14!!  Gosh!  Time really flies! She loves playing piano and started when she was 5 years old when we were living in Helsinki - actually she wanted to start when she was 4 but the piano teacher said that her fingers were too small and it's advisable that she wait another year.  From then on she never stop playing.

As I do not have many music stamps, I decided to take her piano book and drew the notes - just don't ask me what notes are they as I can't read them at all. The notes were coloured in copics and heat embossed in clear to give the shine! The strings are from DMC cross-stitches thread which I have tons of them as I like cross-stitching years ago.

The sentiment is from Reverse Confetti which I think is a perfect way of combining the music notes - if I can meet the challenge from Time Out Challenges. I would also like to enter this card into Seize the Birthday.

This is the inside of the card whereby I used half the envelope to make into a gift card.  I decorated the envie with a piece of black cardstock and added the sentiment.  A piece of music notes is adhered onto the flap of the envie.

Finally, it's Friday.... it's not that I work fulltime but I am so happy for the children and DH to have the weekend off.

Today's card is all about stitching.  I had so much fun making this card.  The background panel is stamped by using the Lawn Fawn Blissful Botanicals and the smaller panel is from The Alley Stamps Background Check.  Both panels are machined stitched.  5 banners are cut and faux stitched along the sides.  I love the koala which is colored in red (I don't feel like using the natural colour) and made another banner for the smaller panel which is actually from a party hats from the set Hats off You.

As for the inside, I made a pocket for a gift card and also for a short message on the little card.  I am also entering this card into the following challenge : Scrapbooker's Paradise, Penny Black and More
