PB and More Jan. Challenge

Here is a card which I made for the "Cards for the Heart Drive 2014" which is organised by Winter Wonderland Crafter.  This is her 4th year running this charity and my 3rd time sending cards to her and am planning to do it again next year. Please read more about her work charity here.

I assembled several die cuts to make this card and the image is from PB and the sentiment is from SSS.

I am submitting this card to Penny Black and More challenge.

AllSorts Challenge #233

As I am still continuing with my charity project for the school, here is one of the set of cards which I made by using PB Glad Tidings.

I had to keep it simple as it is a production work although I realised it too late that the complicated die cut was more difficult to get them out. I know that for complicated die cut, I had to use it together with wax paper but unfortunately it did not help so I thought I rubbed some wax from the candle over the die cut and it came out easier.

I also made a folder whereby I could put the cards and envelopes with it.  As this is a gift, I am submitting this project into AllSorts Challenge

I received this bouquet of flower from my class for my birthday...

Wishing you a craft day!

Send a Smile 4 Kids Challenge

** WINNER**
******************************************************

Happy Friday to all!  I can't believe it that our autumn break is almost coming to an end.  We spent a couple of days up north where my DH is working.

I made a card for Send a Smile 4 Kids challenge with the Early Holiday Wishes 4 Kids.  Send A Smile 4 Kids is a charitable blog created for the purpose of collecting donated handmade cards to be distributed to children while they are inpatient at Children’s Hospitals.

The background is distressed in various blues. I am using one of my fun HA Down the Chimney stamp which is paper pieced and coloured.  I also added a layer of glittered snow.  The sentiment is from MFT.

Inside

One of the many things which we did was made a walk in the woods and as we do not have those beautiful colours which I often see in photos from USA, I will only share some mushrooms photos.

Which one is your favourite?  My personal favourite would be the first mushroom.  Have a lovely weekend!

Cards for Maddy

PLEASE SEND A SMILE TO MADDY

You may remember back in July of 2012, Simon Says Stamp introduced you to this beautiful and brave young girl, Maddy Justice.  Sadly, she was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia and went through chemotherapy treatment, followed by a stem cell transplant from her (then) fifteen year old sister Melanie.

Three months later,  Maddy seemed to be on the road to recovery!  This January,  she had relapsed, which unfortunately means she's going to have to go through this very physical and emotional pain again. You could read more about it here.

Please open your hearts & crafting supplies once again and make a card for Maddy and send them to this address:

St. Jude Children's Research Hospital
Maddy Justice-Patient
262 Danny Thomas Place
Attention Mail Stop 108
Memphis, TN 38105

For this reason, I have decided to make use of the colour challenge from Paper Smooches Sparks which is bright and colourful to bring a smile on Maddy.

This is the first time that I layered the die cuts going "backwards" (if you know what I mean) which took me a while to figure out how to do it right.  I made a shot of how I did the arrangement at the end of this post.  This is also the first time that I am doing a shaker card by putting sequins inside.  The sentiment inside the shaker is "hugs"which I thought it would be appropriate for Maddy.

Grayson Card Drive

Just before Thanksgiving, Danielle from Neat and Tangled, heard news that a girl she went to high school with and her family had embarked on an incredibly difficult journey. They had discovered that their sweet little 2 year old boy, Grayson, had a tumor on his brain stem. Since then they have been on a roller coaster ride, and this is only part of the journey. Through all of this, the family has stayed strong, hopeful, faithful and positive.  And Grayson is a strong and spunky fighter :) Grayson's mom, Jackie, has a blog she keeps updated regularly, so you can get to know more about Grayson here.

Danielle wants to just light up Grayson's life with some serious happy mail!  She talked to Jackie, and she informed her that Grayson and his brother love to get mail...and so, here we have the

Happy Mail for Grayson Card Drive.

Grayson is super lucky to have a big brother, Aydan, who is 4 so make sure to send some awesome cards to him too! These boys love all things boy :) Rescue Bots, Geotracks, Angry Birds, Thomas the Train. Send these little men funny, happy, cards! We all know how much love goes into a handmade card, and even better how personalized they can be!"

Here is the important info:

The drive will run from January 21 - February 28
(If they arrive late because they are International that's okay too!)

Send them here:
Grayson Savery and/or Aydan Savery
c/o Danielle Walls
P.O. Box 5808
Wilmington, DE 19808

Since the boys like Angry Birds, I thought why not make something which they love and I enjoyed making them too as it's something totally different from stamping - NO Stamping required! (just sentiment)!  I am also linking these cards to Amy's -Tsuruta Designs giveaway!

DD #36

Have not been playing at The Dynamic Duos for quite sometime now and I love the theme of this week as I am planning to send more cards to Cards from the Heart Card Drive

Unfortunately, it's dark at this hour and I could not capture the redness of my card.  Pretty simple direct card to make which involves a couple of layers of border punch to make 3/4 of the front panel and the top embossing is from SU.  The sentiment is from Unity Stamp which is heat embossed in white on a black cardstock. I also added a belt loop on my polka dots ribbon.

As this is a Valentine card, I am also submitting this card to Penny Black at All SortsPurple Onions Designs

Hope everyone is enjoying your Sunday.  Last Tuesday, we had about 15cm of snow and the temperature remains below freezing point and today we had more snow again - 10cm.  Although the temperature is -5 degrees celcius but with the wind coming from the east it felt like -10 degrees celcius.

Despite the cold, DH and I went for an hour walk and took a couple of shots.

All the ducks were rushing to us the moment we were coming close to them as they thought that we had food for them - poor ducks!  On left hand side, the swan was chasing away the duck as it thought that we brought some food for them!

I am working fulltime again this week which means that I will have little time to make card but I hope to be able to sneak in at least one.  Thank you for sweet comments and wishing you a lovely day!

PS Challenge 7-13 Jan

Happy Friday everyone.  It's trend watch challenge over at Paper Smooches Sparks  and Flonzcraft with the theme vintage.

Here is my take on the vintage.  The background is stamped with several PS sets with distress ink antique linen in all directions.  Again, the cardstock is distressed with antique linen and vintage photo and the edge is distressed as well!  Adhere the background onto a dark cardstock.

I used the HA Woodgrain which is stamped with archival aqua marine (my new ink) onto a white cardstock.  Stamped PS Boob Tubes onto the woodgrain, heat embossed and distressed with vintage photo. The sentiment on the tv is from Unity Stamp which is also heat embossed.

I am donating this card to Winter Wonderland who is collecting Valentine Cards for children in the hospital.  Woohoo!  I am off to make a few more valentine's cards as I don't usually have a reason to make them.

Card for Sebastian

Good Morning, hope everyone had a good weekend.  We had lots of snow on Friday and the sight is so beautiful.  The downside is that everything has melted and the roads are in such a mess at the moment.

Anyway, I have a card to share with you today which is for this little boy, Sebastian who is scheduled for another surgery on December 19th.  You can read more about it here on Ginger's blog.   I heard about him through Annette, My Clever Creations.  Ginger is putting together another card drive for Sebastian.  We want to fill his hospital room with hope and joy!!!  With this card, I hope that it will bring him smiles and hope.

I am using the color challenge from Lawnscaping Challenge to design this card for Sebastian.  This card also enters into Timeless TwineStamping Sensations

Charity Bag

*** EDITED***

WINNER AT SIMON SAYS STAMP

*********************************************************************************

Hello Thursday!  I am donating this bag filled with cards to the school which I am working as there is a summer party before the school year ends.  Many items will be auctioned whereby the money will be donated to the charity.

No stamping today but lots of shapes and embossing involved.  My latest buy is the embossing folder from SU which I used it for the flap.  I also added some twine as a decoration on the bag which is also a challenge at Timeless Twine and because it's a non-card project, I am so entering this into Simon Says Stamp.  This week's challenge at DYSU is inspired by movie.  Immediately, I thought of Sex and the City as there are always lots of designers' clothes, shoes and bags to look out for.

Card Drive

Here are some cards which I made during the past weeks which will now go to a good cause.

Martha is collecting cards after visiting a rehabilitation centre which is also a nursing home and her heart went out to all the residents.  If you have some extra cards and even make new ones and needing a lovely home, please do send them to Martha whereby she will deliver them to the residents and hopefully it will bring them joy and smiles.

I hope you will join me in doing this good deed!  Thank you for dropping by!

Charities

Here are the cards which were sent to Vera Ling who organises a card drive called CARDS THAT CARE. We hope that many of you will join and help them to reach more nursing homes and spread more joy.

The holidays are about family, about kindness, and joy. The holidays are the times when many of the elderly who lives in nursing homes would really feel the loneliness or missing their family. Wouldn't it be awesome if we can bring a smile to their face & brighten their holiday season simply by sharing our love of card making? A simple gesture to let them know that they are not forgotten.

We all love making cards and what’s better than knowing our creations can bring a smile to others? We hope that many of you will help and join us in our effort to spread joy & cheer!

As much I as would like to send in more cards but because of the postage price I'm limited to send a certain amount only.

Every year Claire's' (this will be her last year in primary school) school participated in the contribution towards children who are living in Albania, Moldavie, Irak, Malawi, Kenia and Uganda. Children are advised to donate recyled or new things like toiletries, note books, pens, towels, combs, balloons and etc. All these are put into a shoebox which will be wrapped-up in a nice gift papers so that the children will receive them as a present!

Using some of the free papers from some magazines, I decorated a writing book's cover and made some mini bags.
The thought that when the children open their present it will bring them a smile on their faces made me happy!

Card for James

Updated : Yeah! Honorable Hoots Mention at Wees Memories Challenge

Heather Ruwe is running a card drive for James who is diagnosed with tumor on his kidney.  This is the card which I made for him with the little monster who is appearing in stages from his hidden place!  I've put stickles on all images and made a monster bite on the top right hand corner with a scallop punch!  I hope it will bring a smile on him upon receiving it.

This card also enters into the challenges :

Week of Honouring at Joy

Based at Joy's Inspiring Challenge,  week of honouring  she has posted a challenge for her readers to do the same. There are so many people I get inspiration from, but today I've chosen a card from Lucy Abrams.  I love making cards which are simple and clean cut and here is what I've come up with.

I made this card for Gavin who is only 3 years old and is diagnosed with leukemia. You can find more information at Latrice Murphy.
