TKJ #230

Today, we visited a friend who lives in the southern part of Holland and the temperature reader in the car kept in rising!  When we arrived at our destination the temperature was 37.5 degrees celcius.  I have never experience such high temperature in Holland before.

Today is also the official kick-off of Tour de France in Utrecht the 4th biggest city in Holland.  It's the 102th tour made up of 21 stages and covers a total of 3360 km.

As the school term is coming to the end, I made a couple of thank you gifts for some of the conceirge/ adminstrative staff who are usually forgotten by parents. This is one of  the few which I made and I went for a match-box suitcase design.  I am going for the colour theme "red/ white/ blue for the colour challenge at The Kraft Journal.

The sentiment die cut is from SSS.  I only die cut the letter "T" in white and the rest in red.

Put some chocolates and made a matching tag.

Thank you for taking time to visit me!

LIM - Little Ones

My colleague has just given birth to a baby boy and I thought it would be nice to make something from all of us to sign in.  I made a kind of an accordion style but decided to stick all the pages together to make into a booklet.

There are lots of die cuts involved in this booklet and I really enjoyed making them.

I am popping this into the following challenges : Less Is MoreStamping Sensations and Hobby Vision challenges.

A peep inside the booklet .....

Thanks for dropping by.

CASE Study #39

UPDATED : 8 MAY
MR. RANDOM PICKED ME AND I WON PB STAMPS!
******************************************************

One more day and we will have another long weekend this week.  Woohoo!

Today, I am trying something new with a coffee filter to make a flower.  Have you tried it before?  Here is my inspiration card from CASE Study.

I used 2 strips of the border punch for the left hand side of the card.  On the another panel, a vellum is embossed and adhered to the base card.

As for the flower, first I swiped wornlipstick and peeled paint ink pads on a plastic binder holder as I do not have one of those TH mat.  Then spray with lots of water and dipped the filter onto the surface until you have achieved the colour.  Once the filter is dry, die cut into 8 scallops, put a hole in the middle and add a pin to keep it secure.  Then crunch all the scallops pieces by pieces until you are happy with your flower.  The sentiment is embossed in gold.

As there are a number of texture and embossing involved, I am also entering this card into Stamping Sensations.

PDC - Colour Splash Time

Hi folks,

It's the time of the year again to share with you the beauty when Holland is bloomed with flowers.  Every year we drove to hunt for the fields of flowers but this year we decided to cycle to make this tour which was more relax but more tiring. In total, we did a 36km returned trip but we have no complain as the weather was just absolutely beautiful.

Somehow, this year I don't see many tulips or is it simply because of the long winter that the tulips are not bloomed yet?  However, if you would like to see more tulips, please see here which were taken during the last years.

Last year, I remembered my dear niece visited us during this time of the year and we had so much fun hunting for the flowers.  Miss you, dear Vivien!

First, before I show you the flowers, I would like to share with you the card for today which is a colour challenge over at The Play Date Cafe.  There is no stamping required with this card at all but involved lots of cutting, embossing and machine-stitched. Very simple to make but repetitive design which I do like occasionally.

Sorry that I am unable to provide you with the names of the flowers which marked?  If you do know their names, please do let me know.

Just a note that the colours of the flowers were much more intense in real and I wishthat I could capture them to share them with you.  Hope you have enjoy the mini tour!

Easter Baskets

EDITED : 6 APRIL
HONOURABLE MENTION AT CAS-UAL FRIDAYS

*********************************************************************************
Hello Everyone! I have no cards to share with you today but two easter projects : a basket and an egg-box.

This week challenge over at CAS-ual Fridays is to make a CAS-Easter projects but no cards.  So here are my bunnies projects. There is barely any stamping involve in these projects but I had to use a lot of my faithful cuttlebug help.

I am also entering these projects in the following challenge : Crafty Creations

First is the "heart" bunny.

Bnnny's tail

I gave the bunny a sweet hair-pin

Bunny egg-box which has been machine-stitched on all sides.

A sleeve to hold the box.  Also machine-stitched.  The stamp is from HA.

Inside of the egg-box.  I made 6 holders to put the easter eggs.

It's the end of March already and snow is still falling occasionally.   Thank you for dropping by and I wish everyone a blessed Easter weekend!

10 Minute Craft Dash #14

Could make a card within 10 minutes?  Here is a challenge over at Pretty Pink Posh.  Hmm.... I managed but without stamping as I also would like to enter this card to CAS-ual Fridays and The Pink Elephant Challenge.

Very simple CAS card just by using die cut and buttons.  In total, I spent about 6 minutes making this card and in fact more time was spent on putting the dimensional stickers on the cardstock - LOL!

The sun is shinning over here but the weather is very deceiving as the windchill is still very very cold and I would say it's still about -10 degrees celcius.
Spring! Spring! Please come and visit us soon..... I am very very cold! (suffering from cold hallucination)

Thank you for dropping by!

Grayson Card Drive

Just before Thanksgiving, Danielle from Neat and Tangled, heard news that a girl she went to high school with and her family had embarked on an incredibly difficult journey. They had discovered that their sweet little 2 year old boy, Grayson, had a tumor on his brain stem. Since then they have been on a roller coaster ride, and this is only part of the journey. Through all of this, the family has stayed strong, hopeful, faithful and positive.  And Grayson is a strong and spunky fighter :) Grayson's mom, Jackie, has a blog she keeps updated regularly, so you can get to know more about Grayson here.

Danielle wants to just light up Grayson's life with some serious happy mail!  She talked to Jackie, and she informed her that Grayson and his brother love to get mail...and so, here we have the

Happy Mail for Grayson Card Drive.

Grayson is super lucky to have a big brother, Aydan, who is 4 so make sure to send some awesome cards to him too! These boys love all things boy :) Rescue Bots, Geotracks, Angry Birds, Thomas the Train. Send these little men funny, happy, cards! We all know how much love goes into a handmade card, and even better how personalized they can be!"

Here is the important info:

The drive will run from January 21 - February 28
(If they arrive late because they are International that's okay too!)

Send them here:
Grayson Savery and/or Aydan Savery
c/o Danielle Walls
P.O. Box 5808
Wilmington, DE 19808

Since the boys like Angry Birds, I thought why not make something which they love and I enjoyed making them too as it's something totally different from stamping - NO Stamping required! (just sentiment)!  I am also linking these cards to Amy's -Tsuruta Designs giveaway!

Charity Bag

*** EDITED***

WINNER AT SIMON SAYS STAMP

*********************************************************************************

Hello Thursday!  I am donating this bag filled with cards to the school which I am working as there is a summer party before the school year ends.  Many items will be auctioned whereby the money will be donated to the charity.

No stamping today but lots of shapes and embossing involved.  My latest buy is the embossing folder from SU which I used it for the flap.  I also added some twine as a decoration on the bag which is also a challenge at Timeless Twine and because it's a non-card project, I am so entering this into Simon Says Stamp.  This week's challenge at DYSU is inspired by movie.  Immediately, I thought of Sex and the City as there are always lots of designers' clothes, shoes and bags to look out for.
