Lawn Fawn

Made this critters card for my nephew who will be celebrating his 10th birthday. I used several stamp sets from Lawn Fawn, coloured in copics and fussy cut them.  Popping this card into Lawnscaping challenge.

I am glad that DH's party is over now and I was very happy with how things went.  I would like to share some things which I made.  I decorated these disposable plastics....

with washi tapes.  Don't really use my tapes so much but I was very please with the result.

Made some fruits on sticks.  It was a big hit!

I did made more than these but somehow I was too busy and rather stressed that I forgot to take more pictures.

Freshly Made Sketches #209

Has it occurred to you as well that sometimes the simplest card is the best card? Here is a sketch from   Freshly Made Sketches.  The ingredients which I used are:
Lawn Fawn Stitched Party Banner, Hats off to you which is coloured in and added TH clear rock candy.  The sentiment is from MFT Grand Holiday Greetings which is heat embossed in red.

I am popping this card into One Layer Christmas - Stocking challenge.

 

New term is starting tomorrow and I know that I will have lesser time to make cards for the festive season.  So I made more cards by using the MFT Santa Socks. 

The top part of the socks are die cut from velt and dry embossed.

The Card Concept #37

I have a clean and simple card to share with you today by using one of my favourite sets; the butterfly from HA Antique Engravings. I am choosing the tic-tac toe challenge from Hero Arts: Stamped twice on a watercolour paper, heat embossed on white and trimmed.  Then I spritz water and coloured with TH distress inks.


The background is wet embossed by mixing the embossing paste with TH inks.  I also added a vellum and some matching metalic twine before attaching onto the base card.

CASology #150

Here is a quick card which I made for my niece who passed her exam.  The background is stamped randomly with Lawn Fawn set.  I wanted an adorable graduation card therefore I chose this giraffe from Avery Elle.  Finished off with the hat from Lawn Fawn.  The sentiment is in dutch and it means "congratulations".

I am popping this into CASology challenge.

Lawnscaping Challenge #102

When I saw the "magical" distressing done by Laura Bassen I just had to try it out myself.  The first trial did not turned out well but I am so happy with the second attempt.  The colours which I chose are the colour challenge from Make the Day Special. 

As for the mini penguins they are from the Lawn Fawn Critters in the Snow and I had to add one with a glasses!  The border stitched is also from Lawn Fawn.  I am also popping this into Uniko Studio challenge.

It's a working day tomorrow and I am planning to cycle to work!  Enjoy the rest of your day!

Freshly Made Sketches # 178

This week Lizzie Jones from PTI is showing a fun technique called Confetti Cluster stamping.  I am using the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches and colour challenge from Colour Me to make this card.  I am also popping this card into Addicted to Stamps.

The base card on both sides are stamped with Reverse Confetti Very Stripey.  The kraft and white cardstock are run thru Lawn Fawn square stitch. 

The butterfly die cut are stamped with PTI Fancy Folk Art and machine-stitched on the border.  A piece of burlap is adhered onto the kraft cardstock followed by the stamped butterfly and a piece of vellum.  A row of sequin is added onto the middle part of the butterfly.

Lawnscaping Challenge #101

Greetings from sunny Holland! The weather has been absolutely beautiful over here for the last few days and it feels like spring although the temperature is still chilly.  However, there is already sign of spring over here and here is the crocus from our garden.

I have a card to share with you today for Lawnscaping Challenge which I almost missed! Anyway, another shaker card which I will also be popping into Sugar Pea Designs  and things that fly being my balloons at Simon Wednesday challenges. 

The stripe background is stamped in black from PTI Basic Background and the rectangle frame is from Lawn Fawn Large Rectangle Stitched.  I cut and coloured the Lawn Fawn Critters in the Dog Park which seems to be carried by the balloons while trying to retrieve the dog bone!

Flickr Co-challenge SSS & Lawn Fawn #2

This is my second submission for the challenges over at flickr challenges.  Check them out here and here.

I really had fun making this card as I did not really plan how it turned out at the end.

The background panel is embossed with music folder on a vellum.  The panel sky is distressed lightly.  I used MFT snowdrift for the grass and the houses are from SSS village which are die cut in two different colours and adhered onto dark brown cardstocks to create the shade.

The lovely koala is from Lawn Fawn Down Under - cut, paperpieced and coloured in copics.  Then I thought I was done but I wanted to add another animal and decided on a crocodile.  Why pink, you might be wondering - well because I had a pink house and something pinky need to come back onto the scene!

Made the sun from twine.

This part was totally unplanned but I was giggling all the time while trying to finish the card!  I really had fun making this card!

Flickr co-challenge SSS & Lawn Fawn

Usually, I would say "YAY! It's Friday" but as the week is ending soon which means school/ work will be starting in 3 days' time!

Aiyah! I am glad that I have a week off whereby I could catch-up with several things and also making cards.  First-up, have you heard of the flickr co-challenge with Simon Says Stamp and Lawn Fawn - do check them out over here and here.  It's all about "Get Crafty with Kraft".  

Here is my one-layer card. The base kraft is stamped lightly with MFT Woodgrain and I used the half-die cutting technique with the oval scallop to create the opening.  The die cut is from SSS Small Hello which is adhered onto the scallops.  The butterfly and leaves are from Lawn Fawn Blissful Botanical.  I am using the colour challenge from Color Throwdown and this card will also go into The Kraft Journal.

CAS-ual Fridays #136

YAY!  It's Friday which mean our one week spring holiday has started.  Just a quick post before going off for a weekend with my in-laws!!

Today, I am using a fun technique which involves watercolour on a SU embossing folder without using CB.  I am very pleased with the result.

SSS Flickr Challenge #11

Made this card a few days ago and forgot to post it and just realised that today is the deadline. 

I bought this SSS Frozen Treats die last year and never got a chance to use it until now.  I wanted something different other than using the normal valentine dies and decided to use this couple.  Once the ice-creams were cut out, I distressed them with TH inks and clear embossed them twice.  To make it a little bit more romantic I had to lean them on each other! A piece of heart-shape vellum is attached on the background.  The sentiment is also from SSS Just a Love Note.

PP #230

Hello Sunday!  Have not been playing at The Paper Players for awhile and today's challenge caught my attention - furry friends!  I love dogs and decided to use the Lawn Fawn set which is stamped on patterned papers and heat embossed.

Adhered two mini heart shapes on the white cardstock and stamped the sentiment from SSS.  A piece of blue burlap is attached onto the background. I am popping this into Time Out , SSS Flickr and House of Cards challenges.

The Card Concept #27

I was drawn by the ombre inspiration from The Card Concept and immediately I thought of using the MFT Snowdrift Dies for this card.  For this card, I am using the sketch from CAS (E) this Sketch.

I had to puzzle a little with the snowdrift dies to make sure that the dies fit perfectly (not really) with each other.  The border stitched dies is from Lawn Fawn.

The heart shapes are in three layers : vellum, burlap and TH distress glitters.  I wanted to use my new SSS sentiment as it's a thank you card which is die cut in grey.

I am also entering this card into ColourQ, SSS Flick, SSS Work It Wednesday challenges!

Weather has turned into hail since yesterday!  Yesterday, I was cycling from work and was attacked by the hail, ouch!  Luckily, it was only a short distance cycling however, towards the end of the day there was so much hail that the roads were covered in white!  Always worried for those who are cycling especially my children who needs to cycle further away.
