Stamping Sensations - Colours of Autumn

** TOP 3 at Stamping Sensations and
Picked as GD at PB & More ***
*****************************************************************
It seems like I am squeezing as many cards as I could make this week before the school begins next week again.

I feel like colouring today so I ended up stamping PB Divine onto a watercolour paper and started painting in TH distress inks.  The poppies are coloured in spiced marmalade, winter berries and aged mahagony and the leaves are coloured in iced spruce and evergreen bough.  The background is stamped randomly with SU Grundge.  Then, I doodled along the branches and sprayed some glimmer mist. The sentiment is from Kaisercraft Blue Bay.

I am popping this into the following challenges Stamping Sensations30 day coloring challenge by The Daily MarkerThe Mixed Media Challenge and Penny Black and More.

SSS #26

** FEATURED AT Colour Throwdown **

*****************************************************************
Although, I have not been around lately in the blogland, I am still making cards - it's just that I am lazy to blog my cards.

Anyway, a simple card which all about pastel at Simon Says Flickr Challenge.  I am using the SSS Scribble Flowers, MFT Textile Background and the sentiment is from Altenew.  For this card, I am using the colour inspiration from Color Throwdown.

Weather has been bad over with lots of rain and I hope yours is better off than us.  Have a good day!

MFT Summer School Hard vs Soft

Hiya.  Today's card is all about "hard vs soft" design which you can learn more at MFT.

I have chosen a "hard" design which is the grid on background which is lightly distressed in TH Ice Spruce.

As for the "soft" part are the flowers are from MFT Scribbles which are die cut in different colours to match the inlaids as well.  The leaves are from MFT Layered Leaves. Stamped the sentiment from Stamp It-Friendship onto the vellum tag.

I am popping this into Colour Me and CAS on Sunday challenges.

Thank you for dropping by and have a good day!

The Card Concept #38

The moment I saw the colour challenge at The Card Concept, I fell in love with it.  I just love the combination of yellow with grey and it also gives me the feeling of summer - light and airy (if you know what I mean).  I am going mixed media with this challenge!

Firstly, I stenciled the background very lightly with ice spruce randomly.  Then, I used PB Floral Delicate, coloured with distress pens and spritz with water and stamped onto the card. Then, I used a brush to lightly stamp over the image to give a more watercolour look.  Once dry, I added some glitters on the yellow flowers.  The sentiment is new which I just bought from Kaisercraft Blue Ray which is stamped in ice spruce as well.  The edges are distressed and I finished the card with grey satin ribbon.  I am also popping this into Happy Little StampersSimon Wednesday ChallengeSimon Monday ChallengeAAA Cards and The Daily Marker.

Thanks for taking your time to visit me and have a crafty day!

The Card Concept #37

** EDITED : WINNER AT CARD CONCEPT**

I have a clean and simple card to share with you today by using one of my favourite sets; the butterfly from HA Antique Engravings. I am choosing the tic-tac toe challenge from Hero Arts: Stamped twice on a watercolour paper, heat embossed on white and trimmed.  Then I spritz water and coloured with TH distress inks.

The background is wet embossed by mixing the embossing paste with TH inks.  I also added a vellum and some matching metalic twine before attaching onto the base card.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges : Color Throwdown, A Blog Named HeroHappy Little StampersThe Card ConceptPenny Black and More and The Daily Maker.

Waltzing Mouse PJ Party June

I have not been joining Waltzing Mouse Pyjama Party for a long time and I thought today's theme was fun.  Do check out all the details over here.

I have chosen to use challenge #1 which is Can It/ Pickle It.  The base card is stamped with TH antique linen with HA Background Manuscript and lightly distressed.  Then, I used a patterned paper which is also lightly distressed.  For this card, I also used a special handmade paper which I got many years ago from a japanese friend and she told me that these papers are from Japan.  I've never used them as I treasured them too much to use them.  The paper has a very special texture and it is also lightly distressed in antique linen. Then, I machine-stitched around the edges.

I used the WM Jar set which is stamped onto a patterned paper and trimmed.  As I wanted to make a shaker card, I decided to trim the inner jar as well and added an acetate.  Tie the lid with twine.  Added a double lace and finished it off with double bow!

Hope you have fun hopping and thanks for dropping by!

SSS Flickr Challenge #20

Barb is organising her 20th challenge over at SSS Flickr Challenge with a summer theme.  I pulled out my SSS Frozen Treat dies for this card.  Cut five of them and coloured in copics, stamped the letters and clear heat embossed.  I also wanted to make a shaker card but because the dies has two different shapes, I could not do what I wanted to.  Therefore, I came up with a different idea.

Die cut the "You" on a white cardstock.  As this time, I die cut it on a bigger surface instead of making several die cuts to raise the sentiment, it is a little bit difficult unless I put dimensional dots all over the card. I don't really know how to explain but I hope you know what I mean....

I recycled one of the plastic I found in my craft paper bin.  Cut into size.

put in the sequins and stitched to close all corners

cellotaped to secure into the right place

ta-da!

Weather has been good over here! Thanks for dropping by!

Thursday Throwback #4

Can't believe that it's already June.  My son has finished his exam and doing nothing at home at the moment as he called it - he needs to chill-out!  As for my daughter, it is another 5 weeks and for me it will be 6 weeks!

Back to the stamping - I was inspired by the colour inspiration from Color Throwdown and Mama Mo Stamps's design.  I tried to combine both and this is what I came up.

The stripes background is from PTI and I used the die cut from MFT.  The base card and the bouquet are stamped with Wplus9 Fresh Floral Cuts.

Maureen added a strip at the bottom of the card but instead of that, I used an acetate and stamped the bottom with sentiment.  Some stickles are added randomly on the flowers.

Thanks for dropping by!

Inspirational Journal - May Challenge

I have not used my old stamps from HA for awhile now and today's cards are from HA Antique Engraving and Manuscript Background.

The background is embossed with TH distress inks and embossing paste is randomly applied on the chicken wire stencil.  The sentiments are from Kaizercraft.

I am entering this into the following challenges : Inspirational JournalInspirational Challenge and Simon Wednesday Challenge.
Added a purple metalic thread on of the butterflies.  Stickles are also added on the middle of the butterflies.

I love how it turned out that I decided to make another one.

Standing side by side and I thought the yellow with green gives a fresher look.

 Have a great weekend!

Die R Us

Lots of layering for today's card that it's going to cost me a bomb to send out internationally.  However, if it's for a good friend - why not.

This card involved lots of die cutting.  The border is from spellbinder Scalloped Border Two.  I alternated each layers with white and kraft and on the second layer, I zig-zag machine stitched it and the top layer is dry embossed.  The sentiment is from Verve and the die cut is from A2 Filigree Delight.  All white edges were lightly distressed with TH Victorian Velvet.

As for the flower, I found some fabric washi tapes and I taped them onto a punched circles cardstock and wrinkle them.  Thereafter, I distressed the edges with TH Antique Linen.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges : Dies R USPenny Black and MoreAll Sorts Challenge and The Kraft Journal.

Weather has been glorious that DH and I made a cycle tour of about 24km and along the water close to our area.

TKJ #224

I am going vintage with some shabby chic today with a tag card!  The tag is stamped with HA Manuscript Background with TH vintage distress ink and lightly distress the edges as well.  I also machine-stitched the along the edges in pink thread.

The dress form is from PTI which is die-cut twice : one on kraft and another in white cardstocks.  The white cardstock is stamped with PTI Damask in TH vintage ink and distress in Victorian Velvet.  Wrapped the dress form in laces and added some pearls as a necklace.  Before attaching the dress form onto the tag, I added some metalic thread.  The background leaves are from SU die cuts.

It seems like a lot of die cuts today.... The next one is the fence from MFT and those little flowers are from Memory box.

I am entering this tag into All Sorts Challenge - No Square Allowed, The Kraft Journal - Vintage and Vintage Stamping - Shabby Chic challenges.

Added white sequins on the flowers.

WPlus9 - Get Sketcy with Joni #1

** edited : Top Picks at Colour Me & TKJ **

Getting "krafty" again for this week's card.  Basing the the sketch from WPlus9 and picking three items from The Kraft Journal which are "tag, feminine and stamped".  As for the colours, I am using the colour inspiration from Colour Me.

For this card, I used the WPlus9 Fresh Floral Cut stamped, coloured and die cut.  I thought it would be fun to die-cut the teapot from Poppy Stamps on an acetate.   The sentiment is stamped with Staz-on black on the teapot.

Usually, I keep the rib cardstock from my food packaging and this time I just had to use it for as my tag. I thought to zig-zag machine stitched the kraft would give a little more interest on the kraft on kraft look!

I am also entering this into Verve StampsStamping Sensations and AAA Cards for celebrating their 1st Birthday!

The Mix Media

I made a tag by die cutting the blue burlap and sticked it onto a white cardstock to make it firm.  I hope the edge of the burlap is considered jagged as this is one of the challenges in Butterfly Challenge. Then, I used embossing paste from MFT circle stencil randomly.  The butterfly is from the HA set Antique Engravings which is watercoloured with distress inks.  Then added icicles stickles and added a some metalic twine.

I would like to pop this into the following challenges : The Mixed Media CardThe Craft Stamper and Inspiration Journal challenges.

The weather is lovely today with blue sky.  Thanks for dropping by!

PTI MIM#211

What a lovely make at PTI this week by Melissa P. using gelatos to soften the look of the stamped images.

The stamp set which I used for this card is from PTI Folk Arts and the sentiment is from Topiary Tree.  Instead of using gelatos, I pulled out my antique chalk set to apply on the stamped images and it looks just as lovely as using gelatos! As this is a Clean and Simple style, I am popping this card into The Card ConceptSimon Wednesday Challenge  and Verve Stamps.

Weather has been weird today.  We are experiencing rain, storm and hails again and in between greeted by the lovely sun!  Hope your weather is nicer!

STAMPlorations - CASplorations April

It seems like a while ago that I made a card.  The school is having a week break and it's nice to be at home with the children without rushing in the morning.

Today's card is all about CASing one of the DTs at STAMPlorations and I have chosen Vicki Dutcher.  I was drawn by the technique which she used with background stenciling with the "open" stamp in black ink.

Here is my card by using the bricks which is stenciled in TH distress inks Peeled Paint and Faded Jeans. Then, I used my favourite stamp from SSS Scribble Flowers to stamp onto the stenciled background.  The colours which I used are colour challenge from Colour Throwdown and this is also a one-layer card which I would like to pop into One Layer Simplicity.  I can't really capture the colour but in real, the colour stands out more than shown here.  I am also putting this card into SSS Flickr ChallengeCraft StamperSeize the Birthday.

Thanks for dropping by and have a nice day!
