HA Birthday Challenge

Brenda - Floral Fantasies is celebrating her 5th Blogaversary and she is having an awesome giveaway.  All you need to do is share your favourite crafting item by entering your piece of artwork.  I must say that my favourite is cuttlebug.

Today's card is rather intricate and it took me ages to figure out how to make this intricate die cut into a frame.   There are days when I thought, I just had to try something new and don't give up.

I made 4 times of this die cut from spellbinder Radiant Rectangles to have a firm frame for the front and back.

Using another die cut label eighteen for the front and back panels.  White embossed the smaller panel with HA manuscript background and distressed in wornlipstick and peel paint.  The sentiment  is heat embossed in white on a vellum.  The butterfly is from the HA Antique Engravings which is heat embossed and distressed in the two colour inks.

Yeah!  It's Friday and the sun is shining - a perfect to start the weekend although it will be a busy weekend for me because Maurice is turning 15 on Monday and the families will be coming on Sunday. I will be busy cooking!

Recently, I am into the "blocking" mood and decided to play with this sketch at MFT using the autumn colours which is the challenge over at Penny Black and More.  I am also entering this card to Simon Says Stamp.

I am using the MFT set Blooming Roses which are stamped with raspberry and vintage sepia inks. The sentiment is from MFT Party Time.

Baby Card

First of all, I would like to express my sincere thanks to all on your thoughts about yesterday.  Conclusion : many of us don't like DIGITAL!  Be positive and keep on crafting for enjoyment!

Anyway, we have a friend who is welcoming their fourth child into their family with 3 girls and now a boy.  As I am not good with making baby cards, I googled you tube and found this simple design.  Really simple to make and I added some ribbons, sequins and did some paper-piecing too.

Yesterday, when I took out my bag of carrots, I found this special carrot in it.  Now, it's up to your imagination of what it looks like.....Are you thinking what I am thinking?

Candle Gift Box

This is my first Christmas project of the year and I am making a candle gift box.  I think I am going to make a few more for my colleagues as they are fun and easy to make and most of all it doesn't cost much.

The background is first distressed by using the colour inspiration from Penny Black and stamped with PB Diamond Pattern.  The acetate is stamped with white stazon with the old set from PB Joyous.  The sentiment is also from PB Joyous.  I used most of the A4 size cardstock for this project and managed to squeeze in 3 candles (depends on the size of your candles).  The measurement of this project is L=12cm x 13cm.

Yesterday, we had extremely lousy weather with heavy downpour almost the whole day.  When I went to school, I was drenched and it took a while before I got dry again.  Despite cycling at my top speed to the train station which was only 5 min away, I could not escape the rain!

This morning's weather started dry and hopefully it will remain good too!  I am combining two challenges for today's card for CAS(E) this Sketch and CAS.  

  

It always feel good when I managed to use up my scraps to create something.  The die cuts are from PS.

Happy Sunday to all!  Can't believe it that the first week of school is already over and the second week is coming up already.  A little bit cloudy and chilly over here today.

The background is created by using the set from Abstract Art which is stamped in different colours.  I love how it turned out.  The sentiment is heat embossed by using the set from Peaceful Wildflowers.  This card also enters into Simon Says Stamp with the theme "Anything Goes" which is enormously popular and I just saw that my card will be at #578!!

Cards for Maddy

You may remember back in July of 2012, Simon Says Stamp introduced you to this beautiful and brave young girl, Maddy Justice.  Sadly, she was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia and went through chemotherapy treatment, followed by a stem cell transplant from her (then) fifteen year old sister Melanie. 

Three months later,  Maddy seemed to be on the road to recovery!  This January,  she had relapsed, which unfortunately means she's going to have to go through this very physical and emotional pain again. You could read more about it here.

For this reason, I have decided to make use of the colour challenge from Paper Smooches Sparks which is bright and colourful to bring a smile on Maddy.

This is the first time that I layered the die cuts going "backwards" (if you know what I mean) which took me a while to figure out how to do it right.  I made a shot of how I did the arrangement at the end of this post.  This is also the first time that I am doing a shaker card by putting sequins inside.  The sentiment inside the shaker is "hugs"which I thought it would be appropriate for Maddy.

Lawnscaping Challenge #58

Today, I am not going to complain about weather as it is so beautiful.  Lots of sunshines with mild temperature - finally I could put on my sandals.  

Today's card is Clean and Simple at Lawnscaping Challenge.  I have seen so many chalkboard style cards lately and decided to give it a try.  Instead of using black cardstock, I went for a green cardstock which I had during my school time (arrg!  it sounded so long ago!). The sentiments are from different sets, heat embossed and wipe lightly with white ink over the green cardstock.

It's cool challenge time over at Paper Smooches Sparks and this week's story is inspired by the colour story "Nautical".

When I read the word "Nautical", I had to think of boats.  Have you tried incorporating origami into your card?  It sure give you a 3D image.  I made an origami boat and a pin wheel to go with this card.  You can find the tutorial here.

First the pin wheel is stamped with sentiment from Cutesaurus and used a tooth pick as the pole. I thought it was fun to put a dino on the boat..  I also used the PS alphabet die cuts on boat.

It seems that we are still in the winter weather although we are going towards June already.
