ABNH

 **** UPDATED : ABNH SHOUTOUT ****

*****************************************************************

This is my second week off and I am treasuring every moment of it.  I did a lot of spring cleaning - OMG!  Everything is so dusty!

Have you heard about the latest challenge over at ABNH - all about Tone on Tone!  It was kind of a challenge to me as I took awhile to figure to make a reasonable card.

One thing I like about ABNH is that they encourage using old HA stamps and I decided to pull out HA Starburst Lace.  My tone on tone stamping is simply by using black ink on the black background and a contrast HA unicorn ink.  The sentiment is heat embossed in white on a torn vellum.

I would like to pop this card into the following challenge Stamping SensationsHouse of CardsCASology and CAS-ual Fridays.

Here are some more of the tulips photos which I promised a few days ago.  Have you seen this colour before - it is dark purple.

I love this shocking pink...

 DH behind the scene!

Hope you have enjoyed the rest of the tulips and I am going back to creating cards again....WOOHOO!

Paper Players #293

Weather is going to be good this coming days-it's going to be above 18 degrees celcius from Thursday onwards!  Woohoo! Good for my DH as he is celebrating his 50th birthday!

Today's card is a very typical dutch scene.  It's tulips season at the moment and with the good weather coming up, there are going to be tons of cyclists.  So, I thought I should incorporate this into my card.

The background blue is stamped on a watercolour paper.  The tulips are from HA Antique Flower Engraving which is stamped on TH distress inks, sprayed with water on it and stamped on the cardstock.

The bicycle die cut is from Memory box.  I am popping this card into the following challenge : The Paper Players.

Have a good day!

Woohoo! Finally, it's holiday and I am really looking forward to it to be able to catch up with my card making!  My first card to celebrate my 2 weeks holiday!

I am going for a clean and simple and a one layer card!  First, I covered the four corners with masking tape and I stamped the image from HA Good Thoughts on a watercolour cardstock.  Then watercolour the background with TH distress ink salty ocean.

The sentiment is from HA It's Your Day which is heat embossed in white on a black cardstock.  I finished the card with some black embellishments and applied Wink of Stella.

I would like to pop this card into A Blog Named HeroSimon Wednesday Challenge and Time Out Challenge.

The Card Concept #52

Yay!  It's Friday which means it's my off day.  Looking at the photo inspiration at The Card Concept, I am inspired by the music notes, the ribbon and the black/ white theme.  I am going for the Clean and Layered style.

The music background is from HA which is heat embossed in white. Then I die cut spellbinder Diamond Effect and stamped the sentiment from Reverse Confetti which I thought it matches well with the background notes.

Thanks for dropping by!

Color Throwdown #383

I have a quick card to share with you today by using the colour challenge over at Color Throwdown.  Love the colour combo as it gives a spring look.

For this card, I used three different stamps from PTI, Reverse Confetti and Waltzing Mouse.  This card involves masking for the top and bottom part of the card.  Then I double scored the border before stamping the sentiment from Hero Arts.

I am also popping this card into Allsorts Challenge and STAMPlorations challenge with a twist of "yellow".

I did second generation stamping with the leaves as I didn't like too much white spots in between the space

We had very nice weather over here with blue sky but still very cold.  Weather is expected to be nice throughout the week!

HLS Feb

So happy that I am able to make another card this week.  Today's card is a kind of mixed media - I used distress paints for this card.

This is another paperpieced project again.  First, I swiped the two paints on coloured papers and stamped the images and trimmed.  On the base card, I stamped HA Envelope in TH broken china and stamped the image again. Adhered the trimmed images and done!

I am popping this card into Happy Little Stampers and Simon Says Wednesday Challenge.

Work is staring again tomorrow and I will miss you guys...

ABNH Feb

Glitters! Glitters!  Lots of glitters on today's card! I used glittered embossing paste on a forest stencil for this card and love how it turned out!

The flower is from HA Antique Flowers Engraving which I used the embossed resist technique...stamped and embossed the flowers with white embossing powder and then applied distress ink over it.  I decided to make it into a shaker card.

I am popping this into ABNHSimon Says Wednesday and CASology challenges.

a closer look on the glittered paste

We are going away on a short weekend before school resumes next week.  Once school starts, I will not be able to blog too much again.

Have a good day ahead!

Craft Stamper Feb

It's such a beautiful day today with lots of sunshine despite the weather forecast that we were expecting rains and hails!

I was playing with the embossing folder and trying to implement HA Background newspaper print into my card as I wanted to enter this card into Craft Stamper challenge.  Finally, I came up with this idea.  First, I stamped the newspaper background onto cardstock and then run it thru the embossing folder. Then I applied different distress inks of blues onto the card and added some Wink of Stella glitter around the edge.  Lastly, heat embossed the sentiment from PB in gold onto a piece of vellum.

I am also entering this card into ABNHSimon Says Wednesday and CASology challenges.

So happy that I can make so many cards this week....

ABNH-One Layer

After days of raining, the sun finally shines and the temperature dropped to freezing point.

Another one layer card for the challenge at A Blog Named Hero.  I used the old set of HA Antique Engraving for this card.  First, I watercoloured the background with distress inks and stamped the butterflies once it was dry.  All three butterflies are also watercoloured in distress inks and I added some trails to give a lift-up. The sentiment is also from HA.

Can't resist giving some stickles too!

Enjoy your Sunday!

Crazy4 Challenge #314

It's dark and gloomy over here and with lots of rain too!  I am trying to capture this set of cards but it seems too difficult with the darkness!

Anyway, as time is running out soon, I decided to make production work from now on.  Today's card is all about "square" which is the challenge over at Crazy 4 Challenge.  I pulled out my old HA Winter moon stamp.  I wanted the card to have a little more dimension, so I stamped another time but only need one tree. Added some TH rock candy on the snow and adhered the tree.  The pretty die cut is from spellbinder Captivating Square.

I am popping this set into Simon Wednesday Challenge and AAA Cards.

I am so glad that I managed to send out all the international cards yesterday and now I am working on the local cards.  Hope to send them out by the end of this week.

In two weeks' time, we will be flying off to Malaysia and we are all looking forward to the trip.

Have a good Sunday!

ABNH - Kraft White & 1 colour

Hiya,  I am so happy to be able to make another card again.  This is for the challenge over at A Bloga Named Hero by using kraft, white + 1 colour. In this instance, I chose blue.  The back sheet is stenciled in HA unicorn and TH distress ink faded jeans.

Stamped the silhouette from HA Greatest Gift and heat embossed in black and fussy cut.  I wanted to try something else with the sentiment by mixing black and white for heat embossed.  This piece is adhered onto an acetate whereby some stickles are added on it.  A blue star embellishment is also added onto the star!

Thanks for dropping by and have a good day!

Verve Challenge

One more week to go and we will have our autumn break. Today, I am making a card combining two challenges from CAS-ual Fridays and Verve Stamps.

For the tic-tac  challenge, I chose for "embossing, die-cutting and stenciling".  As for the inspiration challenge, it's about black and white with glam.

I used the set from Verve Because of You and Blessings for this tag card.  The black tag is heat embossed in white with the stamp from HA Manuscript.  The top white tag is stenciled lightly in black. Then the flower  and sentiment are heat embossed in fine gold.

Wishing you a good week ahead!

ABNH Die-Cutting

Happy Sunday! I am playing at ABNH and Color Throwdown.  I recycled my corrugated cardstock and die cut with MFT Layered Leaves.  Then, I die cut twice in black and two different colours and did an in-laid on the corrugated cardstock.  The sentiment is from HA Everyday Saying which is heat embossed in white.  Finished the card with a black and white twin.

Have a good week ahead!
